Eric Kripke’s The Boys is back with its bizarre take on superheroes for the fourth time. Despite many complaints about its slow burn treatment in the first three episodes, Season 4 has its share of strong performances and dark storylines like the last 3 seasons. Nevertheless, one scene from Episode 3 stood out for sharing an uncanny resemblance to Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man.
With Homelander going crazy over the imbalance in the dynamics of his team to Billy Butcher only having 18 months to live, The Boys grows to be more interesting. The Boys Season 4 Episode 3 reminds us of a legendary Spider-Man scene
Episode 3 of The Boys Season 4 titled We’ll Keep the Red Flag Flying Here featured Hughie Campbell and Mother’s Milk infiltrating a meeting between Antony Starr‘s Homelander, Victoria Neuman, and Sister Sage. But things go wrong as Neuman and the others meet underneath the vent Hughie is in and due to lack of time, he decides to stop there and eavesdrop on their plan.
As the Jack Quaid character listens to Homelander and Neuman’s plans for the assassination of Jim Beaver’s Robert Singer, a drop of his sweat falls on Homelander’s suit and starts chaos on the Vought on Ice set. Now, as @BLUERAYANGEL pointed out, this scene directly reminded the viewers of Peter Parker and Green Goblin’s scene from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man.

The iconic “Norman Osborn Learns The Truth” scene (via TopMovieClips) is still etched in the minds of the fans. The thrilling scene where Tobey Maguire‘s Peter Parker’s blood drips on Willem Dafoe’s Norman Osborn from the ceiling kept us on the edge of our seats. The fans got a chance to relive the moment in the latest episode of The Boys.
But it is important to know that the stakes were higher and more dreadful for the Eric Kripke show as Hughie was almost turned into a crisp by Homelander’s laser vision after the latter found out the truth. Interestingly, this is another callback to Spider-Man in the Amazon Prime hit series after Billy Butcher’s badass take on “With great power…” dialogue in Season 3.
