Eiichiro Oda’s masterpiece, One Piece has finally got its live-action adaptation and it is doing exceptionally well on Netflix. Fans are pleased to see the relatability of the series with the manga and how it is the perfect adaptation. The first season lives up to the promise of huge journeys, epic action scenes, compelling characters, and famous moments from the wildly popular manga and anime. And, based on the hints offered at the end of the series, a season 2 is confirmed. This is because, before the credits begin, the show transitions to a dark and ominous scene in which a hazy haze appears, which anime fans will recognize as Smoker.

There are a whopping 1073 animated episodes, and the show is presently in its 20th season, so there’s plenty of material for future seasons to draw from. The second season of One Piece would potentially pick up where the first left off which would be the Alabasta Saga, the next arc in the Straw Hats’ voyage, and it will be equally as exciting and action-packed as the first. In Season 2 many new characters will join the series and will make the series much better.

As shown in the first season, one of the most important characters is confirmed to be part of the series. Let’s look at the 5 major characters who might be joining Luffy in his journey to become the King of the Pirates.

1. Sir Crocodile

The second season will most probably focus on the Alabasta Arc and Sir Crocodile is the main villain of the arc. He will be part of the series. “King of the Desert” Sir Crocodile formerly known as “Mr. 0,” is the former president of the mysterious crime organization Baroque Works, with Nico Robin, formerly known as “Miss All Sunday,” as his Vice-President and companion. Crocodile is one of the biggest villains of the series and his organization was also hinted in the beginning of season 1.

2. Portgas D. Ace

The biggest reveal of Season 2 would be Ace, who would meet his brother Luffy in the Alabasta Arc who is searching for Blackbeard. Portgas D. Ace, also known as “Fire Fist” Ace, was the biological son of the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and Portgas D. Rouge. Ace was adopted by Monkey D. Garp, as Roger had requested before his execution. He ate the Mera Mera no Mi, which gave him the ability to turn into and manipulate flames. Ace was the captain of the Spade Pirates before joining the Whitebeard Pirates and becoming the 2nd division commander. Ace’s introduction in the series would be one of the biggest moments for the one-piece live-action adaptation.

3. Nico Robin

Another member of the Straw Hat Crew, Nico Robin is also part of the Alabasta Arc. Initially an antagonist, she later joins Luffy in his adventures. Nico Robin, often known as “Devil Child,” is the Straw Hat Pirates’ archaeologist. She is the crew’s seventh member to join towards the end of the Alabasta Arc. Robin consumed the Hana Hana no Mi at an early age, endowing her with the ability to duplicate her body parts on any surface at will. At the beginning of the series, she is introduced as Miss All Sunday, the Vice-President of Baroque Works.

4. Smoker

The character of Smoker is already introduced at the end of season 1. It is believed that, instead of Garp he is the one that will chase Luffy in season 2. Also known as the White Hunter, he is the commander of the G-5 Marine facility and a Marine vice admiral. He was first announced as a captain. Smoker consumed the Moku Moku no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants him the ability to create, control, and convert his body into smoke. He can manipulate the density of the smoke, even to the point of hardening it, allowing him to hold and confine others within it.

5. Monkey D. Dragon

Monkey D. Dragon’s entrance was the highlight of the Loguetown arc(Just before Alabasta begins). Monkey D. Dragon, often referred to as the “Rebellious Dragon”, is the famed Supreme Commander of the Revolutionary Army, as well as one of its founding members and once the Captain of the Freedom Fighters. He has been dubbed the “World’s Worst Criminal” for his attempts to destabilize the World Government. He is the father of Monkey D. Luffy and the son of Monkey D. Garp. He was also born in the Goa Kingdom. Dragon’s appearance will surely change the course of season 2 and may even make it more popular and entertaining than season 1.
