As the events of the Egghead Island arc come to an end, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece is already getting ready for the next installment in the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates. It has been made blatantly obvious by the One Piece narrative that the next arc is the Elbaf arc, and evidently, it is going to be even better than Wano and Egghead.

One of the main reasons why the arc is going to be better is because of the importance of Elbaf in the story and in the life of Usopp, the sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates. Usopp has held the desire to visit the Elbaf village since the beginning of the series, and he also wishes to become a great warrior of the sea, just like the giants.

However, its importance brings with it new challenges and enemies that might be difficult to deal with. While all the other Straw Hats have essentially gotten new power-ups, Usopp is the only one who has not done much in terms of gaining recognition. Therefore, Oda needs to give him the perfect power-up for a sniper: The Observation Haki.

Usopp Has Been Underused in One Piece Since Dressrosa

Although the Sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates has been an essential member of the Straw Hats crew, he has not done any recognizable deeds since the Dressrosa arc. During the Dressrosa arc, he managed to defeat Sugar and free the people who had been enslaved by the Donquixote Pirates, earning him the title of “God” Usopp.

Since then, Usopp has just really been a side character who tries to add a comedic element to the narrative and help other characters in their shining moments. Even in the Wano arc, he only kept running from Page One and did not fight any major characters that would have helped him make a name for himself once again.

Although he did help Kinemon and Okiku by saving them, it did not reflect on his achievements as the sniper of the new Emperor of the Sea crew. Eiichiro Oda needs to add some more plotlines that would shed light on Usopp, and Elbaf will be the perfect place for it.

Usopp Might Get Observation Haki During the Elbaf Arc

It has been made pretty clear that the Elbaf arc will put a separate focus on Usopp as a character. He might even get a power-up that will help him once again make a name for himself as the Sniper of the Straw Hat Pirates. And this power-up is most likely going to be the observation Haki.

While Usopp has used Observation Haki before, it has not been officially confirmed in the series, and even he does not know that he has Observation Haki. Also, observation Haki has a lot of variations, and Usopp has only used presence sensing once. Therefore, he might learn more about Observation Haki and its usage in Elbaf.

Furthermore, almost every sniper in the One Piece Pirates world has been well-versed in Observation Haki, except for Usopp. Therefore, Elbaf is the perfect place for Usopp to learn Observation Haki perfectly and finally earn the title of “The Brave Warrior of the Sea” in One Piece.
