One Piece unquestionably has some of the most interesting plotlines and powers for its characters which makes it all the more unique and stand out in the league of similar mangas and animes. One of these powers includes the exceptionally powerful Conqueror’s Haki — something that not everyone possesses, but those who do become incredibly powerful through the same.
While there are quite a few characters from the main league in One Piece who possess the Conqueror’s Haki, there are also quite a few from the same league who are yet to officially discover it. One of these is none other than the Straw Hat Pirates navigator, Nami, though even her Conqueror’s Haki just may have been teased previously in the manga!
Has One Piece already teased Nami’s Conqueror’s Haki?
As fans already know, Nami is one of the most important characters in the entire One Piece storyline. Not only is she the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates, but she is also one of the most competent fighters in Monkey D. Luffy’s crew. Yet despite being such an important character, Nami hasn’t officially been shown to possess the Conqueror’s Haki.
For those who don’t know, the Conqueror’s Haki is a rare form of Haki that cannot be achieved by mere training. For one that notably holds the qualities of a king, only one in many million people possess this quality that allows its users to exert their willpower over that of others’. These include Kaido, Luffy, Silvers Rayleigh, Roronoa Zoro, and Portgas D. Ace, among others, but not Nami.
Yet, even though not official, Mangaka Eiichiro Oda just may have teased Nami possessing this form of Haki in chapter 1058 by displaying her possessing qualities from the Color of Observation (user can sense incoming danger, power levels, intent, and emotions among other similar things), and the Color of Armament (user can use their spirit as an armor to attack as well as defend).
Though Nami doesn’t possess any of these officially, she has been hinted throughout One Piece 1058 to be a possessor of the same through inevitable signs. Like, when Luffy sails the Sunny in it from the head of a giant waterfall, Nami locks him up in a cage in anger, and through the same, black lightning is seen emerging from her body.
While this isn’t an official quality of the Conqueror’s Haki, it was, nonetheless, deciphered to be the Color of the Supreme King Haki by Jinbe, an experienced fighter. Adding to this is how Nami can quite easily hurt Luffy even though Luffy is pretty much rubber, which hints at a trait from the Color of Armament of this Haki.
One other thing that hints Nami might be a possessor of the Conqueror’s Haki is that she can tell even the slightest of changes in the weather, as was seen in the Alabasta Saga, which is one of the powers obtained from the Color of Observation (user attains a sixth sense) and is inevitably not something that normal people can do.
However, since these are only hints, the actual question still remains: Does Nami actually possess the Conqueror’s Haki in One Piece?
Could One Piece‘s Nami actually possess the Conqueror’s Haki?
As it turns out, there is something fishy that further hints that Nami could actually be another possessor of the Conqueror’s Haki: The still non-confirmation of her true lineage. Since this form of Haki is also one that can be potentially passed down, it could have been confirmed from Nami’s true lineage if she was one of the possessors of the same.
However, since that is unknown as well, it can’t be confirmed if Nami can actually wield the power of the Conqueror’s Haki.
Moreover, this could be treated as just another mere gag added to the story by Mangaka Eiichiro Oda. However, even in that, it is worth noting that Oda Sensei sometimes even makes some of the most crucial plotlines stem from the seemingly gags he created, like Sanji’s nosebleeds and Fishman Island, for instance.
Thus, it could be so that Oda Sensei actually wants to introduce Nami as a Conqueror’s Haki wielder sometime later in the story.
For someone with grand dreams and as ambitious as her to learn all of her abilities to their highest levels, the fan-favorite Nami for sure does seem like one who could very well be another recipient of this form of exceptionally strong Haki. But to know for sure, fans will have to wait until Mangaka Eiichiro Oda officially confirms it in the One Piece storyline.
