Netflix’s One Piece was an unexpected success, and everyone is aware of this fact. Thanks to the notorious history of manga-adapted live-action movies and series barely sticking to the source material, most fans and critics expected the Netflix series to be as busted as every other live-action project before it. However, that was hardly the case, as most of the fans who have watched the series would like to agree.

Nonetheless, the cast and crew of the series were well aware of this notorious past and didn’t want any of the members to get hurt by the ruthless remarks the critics could have for them. Thus, in fear of the worst-case scenario that season 1 tragically failed, the cast flew all the way to Japan to shield each other from the hate!

Since almost all of the previous manga/anime live-action adaptations failed to garner fans’ attention and perfectly serve their expectations, the One Piece cast was terrified as well of the outcome the season one of their series could bring forward for them.

Thus, to protect each other from the worst-case scenario that could unfold for them from the internet and basically social media, the entire cast flew into Japan, where Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro in the series) was, to be together when the TV show came out.

Taz Skylar shared the same story during his appearance at the recent Seville Mangafest event, which is renowned for celebrating “the world of Japanese culture, arts and crafts, games, and entertainment.” As per what @Bloggertessa, who was an attendee of the event, reported on X:

For the record, this entire cast included almost all the main characters of the Netflix series, namely: Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Taz Skylar (Sanji), and Jacob Gibson (Usopp), among others, as per what Skylar mentioned.

Yet, while their worries were justified, little did they know that their live-action adaptation of One Piece was not only going to be liked by fans but was also going to become one of the biggest fan-favorite most perfect live-action adaptations of any manga/anime to ever be created!

Then came the most heart-warming reaction ever as all of them started singing and hugging each other and screaming in joy in the excitement of their show garnering such massively positive reactions from fans worldwide.
