Saitama from One Punch Man vs Tanjiro from Demon Slayer would undoubtedly be one of the biggest events in a potential crossover between the two Shonen. Both characters in question are the highlight of their separate universes due to their surreal superhuman powers.
One Punch Man undoubtedly possesses god-like powers. He is considered to be in the ranks of Superman from DC Comics while constantly being compared to Goku from the Dragon Ball universe. Despite his supreme status, Saitama could also meet his match in the form of a master swordsman from Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga.
Here are three reasons why One Punch Man vs Tanjiro will end up in the demon slayer’s favor despite Saitama’s one-shot powers.
#1. Tanjiro’s Pseudo-Precognition And Olfactory Senses Can Counter Saitama
Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc gave Tanjiro the supernatural ability to foresee the future. He can predict up to six moves that, combined with his enhanced smell during his demon form, can make the swordsman create multiple openings to strike his opponent.
Saitama also possesses superhuman endurance, perception, and movement but cannot predict the future like Tanjiro. The Water Breathing user just needs to create an opening and then stun his target with a flurry of attacks/headbutts, before striking One Punch Man with different elemental attacks like Dance of the Sun God and Waterfall Basin.
Such a One Punch Man vs Tanjiro duel will certainly be a 50/50 affair. However, the Demon Slayer character will have an added advantage because the techniques in his arsenal are far more versatile than Saitama’s punches and kicks.
#2. Saitama’s ‘Unseriousness’ And Inexperience Could Backfire During A One Punch Man vs Tanjiro Battle
Yusuke Murata didn’t give Saitama the classic hero-like training segments in the manga. Instead, Captain Baldy naturally grows in strength and becomes resistant to certain techniques like mind manipulation and vacuum. Despite his unfathomable powers, he is just a human and can err in battle at times due to his lack of combat training.
Meanwhile, Tanjiro had intense training sessions with Sakonji Urokodaki and Kotetsu. The Demon Corps member has been able to defeat multiple strong villains with his adaptability and cunning. There’s no doubt that Kamado can exploit Saitama’s inexperience and the latter’s low IQ, especially at the beginning of the battle when One Punch Man is taking it easy on the swordsman and doesn’t consider him to be a challenge.

#3. A ‘One Punch’ May Not Take Down Tanjiro
Saitama has rarely been pushed to the limit while Tanjiro Kamado has been at the edge of life and death several times. Following his demon transformation, the demon slayer even gained supernatural healing powers. He can heal to become a stronger version of himself while taking damage to the extent of being invulnerable to Bright Red Nichirin Swords.
If Saitama does land a punch in a potential One Punch Man vs Tanjiro, the swordsman could just heal the blow and eventually make himself immune to his rival’s physical attacks. This is where the Demon Slayer protagonist gains a major advantage over Captain Baldy. Saitama does possess near invulnerable hide but he doesn’t have regenerative powers and one fatal blow might be his end.
