While multiple trailers and teasers have been issued by Marvel Studios on their various channels on the internet, one such teaser has a frame that has gotten fans snickering and scratching their heads. While we won’t know what the scene is truly about, as things currently stand, it looks like Wolverine might have a very unconventional opponent.

One of the biggest surprises in the trailer was the fact that Jean Grey is pregnant with the child of Scott Summers. However, there is one shot in particular that shows Wolverine, Scott’s rival for Jean’s affection, drawing his claws at a pregnant Jean. While it’s up in the air what might have caused such a situation to occur, fans are having a field day with the idea of Wolverine fighting a pregnant Jean Grey.

While it is most likely that the characters are not going to engage in any sort of combat, there are plenty of reasons why this is something hilarious. Logan has often found himself fighting Jean Grey, be it in the comics, the animated series, or the films, where he even killed her to rid the world of the Pheonix force in X-Men: The Last Stand. However, the scene may be just about Logan and Jean being in a room where they face sense some sort of danger at the same time.

X-Men ’97 has a very potent MCU connection

X-Men: The Animated Series has always had a strong connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, simply because the mutants that have made an appearance in multiversal projects like Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and The Marvels have been very heavily coded to look like their counterparts in the X-Men: The Animated Series. They were also reminiscent of Fox’s X-Men franchise, being played by the same actors, such as Sir Patrick Stewart returning to play Professor X.

X-Men ’97 along with the actors who played the characters for Fox could be the blueprint for how the X-Men might look in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It makes complete sense to use the costumes of the characters from the era, as it would give them a distinct feel compared to the rest of the universe while keeping them entrenched in the narrative.
