Jennifer Aniston has been in her fair share of romantic movies with many great actors including Adam Sandler, Jim Carrey, and Owen Wilson. In 2006, she starred in The Break-Up alongside Vince Vaughn, prominently known for his comedic roles in films like Wedding Crashers and Swingers. The two play the role of a couple going through a breakup, neither of whom wants to move out of their luxurious home.

During filming, Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn developed real feelings for each other and began a romantic relationship. However, the relationship lasted for only a little over a year before they mutually called it quits. What happened, though? While both of them have spoken highly of each other, there is one thing that Vince Vaughn disliked. Was that the reason the couple had to terminate their relationship?

While being a celebrity sure has its perks, the cons cannot be disregarded, either. One of the biggest disadvantages of being a known name in the entertainment industry is that the paparazzi are literally everywhere, flashing their cameras at you. A celebrity’s dating life is a favourite topic for the paparazzi and Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn were not an exception to the rule.

Speaking to Playboy in 2015, Vaughn opened up about dating Anniston and how she was “great.” The one thing he didn’t like, though, was constantly being surrounded by the paparazzi. He recalled how he spent his time trying to blend into the crowd and not draw attention toward himself just to escape the flashing cameras.

“She’s great. For me personally — and I think most well-known actors who together feel this way — I never enjoyed the paparazzi side of it. You like someone and you’re spending time with them; that’s separate and that was all fine. But I really spent most of that time finding ways not to be drawn into the attention. I think laying low and not talking about it put me in a good position later because I just wasn’t part of anything.”

In 2006, their representatives told PEOPLE that the two had “mutually agreed” to end their relationship. Was the paparazzi simply too much for Vaughn to handle?

Breakups can be messy but Aniston and Vaughn are the rare few who managed to maintain a healthy bond even after separating from each other. Just like Vaughn, Aniston too has nothing but kind words for her ex-boyfriend.

Talking to Vogue in 2018, the Just Go With It actress called Vaughn her defibrillator with the way he brought her back to life.

“I call Vince my defibrillator. He literally brought me back to life. My first gasp of air was a big laugh! It was great. I love him. He’s a bull in a china shop. He was lovely and fun and perfect for the time we had together. And I needed that. And it sort of ran its course.”

Well, every woman loves a man who can make her laugh, doesn’t she? While their romantic endeavor didn’t last long, we are sure they found great friends in each other. Vaughn is now married to Kyla Weber and they have 2 children together. As for Aniston, Vaughn was her first relationship after her separation from Brad Pitt. After Vaughn, Aniston dated John Mayer and Justin Theroux, the latter of whom she tied the knot with. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out and they separated after 2.5 years of marriage.
