Jackie Chan is hailed as one of the biggest action stars in cinema. The Drunken Master fame has gained prominence for his action feats in both the Hollywood and Hong Kong film industries. But an anecdote proves that Chan is also as cool as any mainstream fictional superhero.
Actor Jason Isaacs claimed in a talk show that Jackie Chan caught a fly bare-handed, not once but twice.

Jason Isaacs starred alongside Jackie Chan in 2002’s The Tuxedo. During an appearance on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Isaacs stated that Chan was more of a superstar off-screen. He claimed to have had a memorable moment with the Rush Hour star when they were sitting in a bar, and the latter caught a fly in style.

Jackie Chan is widely celebrated among cinema enthusiasts for his work in the action and comedy genres. Throughout several of his films, the actor has impressed his fans with his slapstick fighting style. However, the presently 70-year-old actor did something unthinkable that blew Jason Isaacs’ mind.
While chatting with host Jonathan Ross in an episode of BBC’s Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Jason Isaacs shared that Jackie Chan blew his mind by catching a fly. The Harry Potter star added that one day, while shooting, he tried to catch a fly but failed. However, the martial arts superstar caught the fly bare-handed and gave his cooler version of “I am Batman!”
Like we were shooting a shot one day, there was a fly on the counter but I come zoned in and I’m gonna get this thing my I missed it anyway. [Jackie Chan said] No No Jason, see fly, they have eyes, they see all around. Here how you come from behind and I said ‘You haven’t got a fly in your hand, get out!’ and he went ‘I am Jackie Chan!’
Initially, Jason Isaacs did not want to believe him. But Chan stayed cool and made the Black Hawk Down star go speechless by pulling off the incredible feat once again. You can check out the interview here:

Jackie Chan has been a notable star, martial artist, writer, director, and producer. Spending more than six decades in the industry, the Shangai star has achieved everything he could. Interestingly, he also has a world record in his name. In 2012, the Guinness Book of World Records awarded Chan for being involved in most stunts by a living actor.
Several fans may argue that another Hollywood legend Tom Cruise has also contributed significantly to the genre. But it must be noted that Jackie Chan mostly works in the slapstick genre, which may not involve massive-scale action sequences but requires him to perform more stunts in number.
The Police Story fame has crafted some impactful action works that will be remembered for a long time by cinema lovers.
The Tuxedo can be rented on Apple TV+.
