Did Moon Knight Introduce Latveria?

The first episode of Moon Knight completely captivated their audiences for many reasons, proposing an exceptionally paced story with an extremely intriguing concept, it is fair to say that this series is unique when put next to other Marvel projects. In the middle of this episode, Steven Grant falls asleep in his apartment, only to wake up on the outskirts of a European town with his jaw broken, with no idea how he got here. Soon he finds the main antagonist of the series, Arthur Harrow, and they have their first introduction.

When get our first look at this village, it is difficult to ignore the similarities this town shares with another in the Marvel comics. The Kingdom of Latveria is a small eastern European country. What many might not know is that this small country is an important part of the story of one Doctor Doom, one of the most anticipated and well-known villains from all of the Marvel franchise, with him being extremely powerful have having gone head to head against all of the most powerful.

What Could This Mean For The MCU?

Marvel is known for hinting at future additions to their franchise very early on, from Thanos first being seen in The Avengers and Doctor Strange being teased first in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, two years before his first appearance in the franchise. It is possible that this could be the case in Moon Knight as well, considering the introduction of the Fantastic Four is right around the corner by the standard of the franchise.

Though Dr. Victor von Doom has fought many and had conflicts with some of the strongest, he is best known for being the archenemy of Reed Richards, the leader of The Fantastic Four. The last time this character was seen in live-action was also in a film following this team. Making this as his return to the screen seems fitting.
