However, while Cillian Murphy’s film was appreciated by the Academy Awards committee, the actor got shockingly sidelined from the list of presenters. As the Oscars released their official list of award presenters for the night, they overlooked big A-listers Murphy, Kate Winslet, and more.

Performers and Presenters of the 96th Oscars

As Hollywood prepares for the big night of the 96th Academy Awards, Billboard revealed the list of performers and presenters chosen to be on stage. With the Oscars event scheduled for March 10, the outlet announced how the committee carefully skimmed through A-listers and selected a handful of icons to perform shows and present awards on stage.

According to reports from the outlet, Billie Eilish and Finneas are set to perform What Was I Made For?, which is also expected to win the best original song. Marking their third Oscar performance in five years, the siblings are to be followed by Becky G, who will perform The Fire Inside, marking her second Oscar performance with a solo spotlight.

Further, the stage will be taken over by Ryan Gosling, who is set to perform I’m Just Ken from Barbie, alongside Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Jon Batiste and Scott George are also set to perform on stage. But while the performers’ list ended quickly, the presenters’ list seems especially long for 2024.

Having major A-listers like Emily Blunt, Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, America Ferrera, Ariana Grande, Chris Hemsworth, Michael Keaton, Jennifer Lawrence, Al Pacino, and more, the list appears unending.

Calling out the Academy Awards for hiring Zendaya while turning a blind eye to stars like Cillian Murphy and Kate Winslet, fans pointed out the hypocrisy of the committee. While on the one hand fans are expecting Murphy’s Oppenheimer to receive its big win, on the other hand, the Oscars is just casually sidelining the actor.

Kate Winslet’s fans rose unanimously in support of the actress, as one user commented boycotting the Oscars since they didn’t choose the Titanic actress as a presenter. Others joined hands to slam the event for neglecting acclaimed stars while offering the stage to celebrities like Bad Bunny.
