Besides excelling in both of their respective professions as an actor and filmmaker and a lawyer and human rights activist, George Clooney and Amal Clooney have also proven to perform equally immaculately in their private lives as well. Dubbed as one of Hollywood’s most favorite power couple, this duo has won a gazillion hearts ever since their marriage in 2014.
One of the biggest reasons behind their ever-increasing love for each other is because of one special vow that the pair made and always kept to each other. However, there seems to be a shift in their relationship as recent reports claim that this fan-beloved couple is finding it rather hard to stick to the promise they made, resulting in them reportedly “leading separate leaves” due to the same.
Amal & George Clooney Reportedly Haven’t Been Keeping Up Their Special Vow
Almost a decade ago, when the pair tied the knot back in 2014, they made a very special vow to each other: To not be away from each other for more than a week, irrespective of however hectic work schedule they may be leading.
As per RadarOnline.com, Clooney shared the same, saying:
Our deal is that we can’t be more than a week apart. So far, that’s worked out pretty well.
But while they had been keeping up that vow throughout all these years, it seems that the promise has gotten harder to stick to now for both of the workaholics, with their work plans getting more heated than ever before.
According to what an insider source told In Touch,
They are both hardcore workaholics, so it’s like they’re in their own little bubble. They are in two very different worlds 90 percent of the day. They’re leading separate lives.
George Clooney is also reported to be “relocating to NYC for about a year to star on Broadway,” meaning they will have to spend time away from each other for a lot more than just a mere week.
But George isn’t the only one to blame, because Amal has reportedly been leading an equally busy-body life behind the scenes as a human rights lawyer and activist, especially in “evaluating evidence of suspected war crimes and crimes against humanity in Israel and Gaza,” as per the source.
Furthermore, the source claimed that while George and Amal Clooney do spend their downtime with their twins, it’s “not necessarily with each other.”
The only time they really have to ‘overlap’ is when they’re on vacation. But when you live in Lake Como, the urge to actually take a vacation doesn’t come up that often. They both have their own staff and friends, and there’s not a lot of crossover.
Needless to say, if these reports are indeed true, then the duo’s incredibly workaholic nature just might end up taking a serious toll on their personal lives (which we sincerely hope doesn’t happen).
However, while that’s that, the couple is also reportedly making efforts to stay together.
George and Amal Clooney are Trying to Spend More “Quality Time Together”
According to the same source, the pair hasn’t given up on their relationship despite not being able to give each other enough time because of their passion for their work. In fact, if anything, “they are trying to make more of an effort to spend quality time together.”
Plus, their tenth wedding anniversary is approaching soon as well, on the 27th of September.
Moreover, as per what the insider noted as well, “The twins’ happiness is their top priority,” meaning that despite being such tremendously passionate workaholics to the core, this pair still values their family over everything else.
That’s not all; the source even claims that the reason why George took up that Broadway play is so that he could stay closer to Amal since she might be spending quite a lot of time in New York herself because of her job as an adjunct professor at Columbia University.
All of this being said, although their sheer commitment to their work may pose a barrier to their personal lives, it seems that this Hollywood’s power couple is stronger than the rest and wouldn’t break that easily, irrespective of however long they have to spend away from each other.
