Fans Hope Blizzard Puts in Efforts For Overwatch 2 x Transformers Unlike Epic Games

Blizzard needs to learn from failures of Epic Games | Steam

Epic Games’ Fortnite is known for its bizarre crossovers. We’ve seen the game collaborating with every popular IP under the sun. Back in 2023, the game collaborated with the popular Transformers franchise and brought battle pass cosmetics, special events, and much more.

However, Fortnite‘s collaboration with the series was received poorly. Many felt that the Fortnite x Transformers by Epic Games was lazily done for the sake of cash-grabbing. Players were disappointed to see that Epic Games didn’t bring transformations for Autobots and Deceptions, which is what makes them Transformers in the first place.

That’s not all; many players also felt that Epic Games should’ve given players multiple styles for popular characters such as Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

Now that we’re soon going to see Overwatch 2 collaborating with Transformers, players are on their knees, hoping that Blizzard doesn’t repeat the Fortnite tragedy.

The Overwatch 2 x Transformers crossover is coming to the game on July 9, 2024, and players are excited to get the iconic cosmetics they’ve always craved. Blizzard still needs to give us more information on the specific details of the event, such as what kind of cosmetics will be debuting and which heroes will be getting skins.

However, it’s clear that if the community wants one thing, it’s actual transformation in the crossover. Luckily, we already have a hero in Overwatch 2 that transforms, and it is called Bastion! There are endless possibilities for what Blizzard could do with this hero for the Transformers collab. Let’s hope they don’t fumble the bag and do the Transformers IP justice in video games!

Overwatch Season 11 content addition | Steam

In the last couple of years, we’ve seen Blizzard releasing new trailers to show off Overwatch 2 content. Last year, we got the reveal of Story Missions and the first look at Flashpoint. This year, a distant lack of Overwatch 2 information has left many in the community baffled, but the developers have assured that there’s major stuff coming to the game.

Season 11 is all set to release on June 20 2024 and will bring a brand-new Push map called Runapsi and a much-awaited rework for the Colosseo map. Alongside Transformers crossover, Blizzard is planning to add tons of new cosmetics, exclusive characters, skins, and much more.

However, it still needs to be confirmed if we’re going to see the new game mode, Clash, arriving in Season 11. Blizzard has previously stated that the mode will go live later in the year. Perhaps the introduction of a new map and rework of an older one has Blizzard occupied for another big announcement soon.
