Palworld, the Pokemon-like action-adventure survival title, was released back in January this year and was a smash hit on PC and Xbox. The game broke several records in terms of sales and concurrent players, including becoming the second-most-played game ever released on Steam.
It also became the biggest third-party launch ever on Xbox Game Pass. However, the player base soon started falling after a few weeks, and the game lost 97% of its peak player count on Steam, but the developer has now brought a new update that might bring back the lost players.
Palworld Brings Exciting New Content with Its Latest Raid Boss Update
Developer Pocketpair released update v.0.2.0.6 for Palworld on April 4, 2024, which is now available on Steam and will soon be hitting Xbox. This is the biggest update to the game yet and adds its first raid boss, known as Bellanoir, and lots of other new content. Players will now be able to summon Raid Boss Pals with the use of slabs at the new Summoning Altar.
These Pals are said to be “very powerful” and cannot be captured. Players will have to work with their base Pals to go against them. There is also an “extreme” version of the Raid Boss, which is much more powerful and difficult for players to defeat. After players defeat Raid Boss Pals, Pals Eggs may drop that can be collected by them.

Several other items are also added to Palworld, including new Training Manual items that allow players to give experience points to their Pals. The new “Ancient Technical Manual” item gives players ancient technology points; “Recovery Meds” slowly recover a player’s HP over time; and “Ability Glasses” allow players to see a Pal’s stats when equipped.
Moreover, new stat-boosting items—Power Fruit, Life Fruit, and Stout Fruit are added and boost Pal’s stats when used. A new passive “Mercy Hit,” a new item “Ring of Mercy,” a new armor “Multiclimate Undershirt,” a new building “Electric Egg Incubator,” and a new building “Ore Mining Site” are also added with the update.
Several Changes to Player and Pals Are Also Included in the Palworld Update
The update brings changes to several Pals, including Dumud and Kelpsea. Dumud can now produce high-quality Pal oil, and Kelpsea can produce Pal Fluids. Player changes include a new “sleeping” player emote, and any item dropped by a player after death on a dedicated server can be picked up by anyone after 24 hours of real-time.
If players think their Pals aren’t working enough, they can now force them to work and cancel their break by throwing them towards a facility. Additionally, base-related updates have also been implemented, such as the addition of chest filters, and players can now allow or disallow certain work for base Pals at the Monitoring Stand.
Palworld has also brought updates to the UI, balance changes, improved Pal models and textures, and fixed bugs. A new song has also been added to the soundtrack and can now be enjoyed by players. Developers have said that a “more content-packed update” is coming in summer 2024.
