However, this is not going to be the first time that this long-hailed franchise is coming up with a video game. In 2017, VRWERX came up with a VR-focused video game adaptation, Paranormal Activity: The Lost Soul. But that game never did justice to this horror film series, which grossed more than $800 million at the box office worldwide.

DreadXP has also launched a 34-second reveal teaser of the game. As of now, no further information, like the plot or storyline, about the game has been revealed, except that it will be released in 2026. Talking about the platform, Paranormal Activity: Found Footage is most likely to be available on all platforms, as The Lost Soul was available on both PC and PS4 in 2017.

Despite no more information regarding the game being released other than what was shown in the trailer, this title is going to be a ground-breaking one for the franchise, and the makers are hopeful about it. The Creative Director of DreadXP, Brian Clarke, spoke about the game in a press release, stating;

“‘Paranormal Activity’ video game will honor those core tenets and offer horror fans one of our most terrifying games yet. The success of the ‘Paranormal Activity’ franchise epitomizes the power and reach of the horror genre. If you thought ‘The Mortuary Assistant’ was scary, we’re taking what we learned during the development of that title and cranking it up with a more reactive and horrifying haunting system. It’s going to be intense!”

Along with Clarke, DreadXP Producer Patrick Ewald stated;

“We are thrilled to work with Paramount Game Studios and to have the opportunity to bring the world of ‘Paranormal Activity’ to gamers everywhere. The films are steeped in rich lore and creative scares, and under the stewardship of creative director Brian Clarke, DreadXP’s ‘Paranormal Activity’ video game will honor those core tenets and offer horror fans one of our most terrifying games yet,”

As things stand, after dominating the horror film industry, Paranormal Activity is going to rock up the gaming fraternity as well with this upcoming title. Share your thoughts about this highly anticipated horror title in the comments section below, and stay tuned to FandomWire for more updates.
