While the majority of the Hollywood industry relies on their stunt doubles to perform actions that can seriously injure a person or worse, Tom Cruise is still among the handful of actors who are firm believers in living the action that their character has to perform for the film. Rather than giving the stunts to his stuntmen, Cruise much rather takes the risk himself and does the sequence to experience the thrill in the process of putting his life on the line.

And with the increasingly reducing list of stunts to put his life on the line for, the star just comes up with ways to entertain himself by giving him challenges that few others from the industry are willing to do. Thus, during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, he was presented with a hypothetical scenario where he would have to take the risk of parasailing over an active volcano, which was somehow amusing to the star rather than terrifying.

From climbing the tallest building in the world to hanging out from a chopper in the Himalayan range, no matter how bizarre and deadly the stunts are, they probably have been performed by Tom Cruise at one point in time, either for a film or for the promotion of one. Known for being somewhat of an adrenaline junkie when it comes to the risks that the Top Gun star goes to, it’s no surprise the offer of flying over a volcano spitting lava everywhere would make the star excited.

During the show, Kimmel asked whether he would parasail over an erupting volcano, to which Cruise had a bada*s response. He said:

“You know, I have been to an erupting volcano, and parasailing over it will be quite beautiful. Yes, I would”

Just goes to prove that either the man has no fear, or he’s just too much of a thrill-seeker to leave a chance of doing these stunts anytime he gets to do them.

With the film now reaching closer to its proposed release date, fans cannot wait to see Tom Cruise in action one more time in the upcoming film. As the star reprises his most popular role as Ethan Hawk in the movie, he is tasked with an even more dangerous mission with even higher stakes on the line, things that he would have to overcome in order to save the world from foundational collapse. To take the risk ceiling even higher, the actor has not left any gaps in adding death-defying stunts that are more dangerous and adrenalin-rushing than before.
