The Ghostbusters franchise is a series of supernatural comedies. It was created by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis in 1984. In the franchise, Bill Murray plays Peter Venkman. He is the Ghostbuster, who is more interested in pursuing women than catching ghosts.

Paul Rudd always wanted to be Peter Venkman. He expressed his admiration for Bill Murray’s character Venkman in Ghostbusters. He saw Murray as super cool and dreamed of a world where he could be someone like Murray. As Rudd explains in the interview with AV Club:

“Well, I was pretty taken with Venkman. I was just saying that, with Bill Murray, as everybody is, I am a huge fan of his. When I saw the movie, I just thought, ‘that’s the coolest character I’ve ever seen’. I would like to think that in my dream world, I could be that cool under pressure and always funny. In my fantasy world, I would get to be somebody like him.”

But it is all worth it for Rudd because he later got to star with Murray in Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Though he did not get to play the role of Peter Venkman, he did get to play along with who played it.

Now, they will be seen together again in the fifth upcoming film of the franchise—Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Working in the franchise he grew up watching is like a dream come true for Rudd.

Rudd joked that the real Sexiest Man Alive should be Murray because he was “incredible” to work with the latest film of the Ghostbusters classic. He continued, “The entire thing is just so incredible to be a part of it.”

The actor grew up watching this movie. Now, being part of it, the 54-year-old can’t help but feel amazed. The experience has become a high point in his life, and he still cannot believe that it is real.

The Hollywood actor talked more about working with Murray, saying, “Legendary doesn’t even cover it. I’m such a huge Bill Murray fan,” he gushed.
