Yet, the fans’ relentless clamor for the adrenaline-fueled movie series persists. In the world of entertainment, it’s the audiences who hold the most important role to make or break a film. Thus producers claim that if the demand is substantial, Rambo 6 might potentially become a reality, with or without Sly in the lead.

Producers Might Revive Rambo Without Sylvester Stallone

While Sylvester Stallone himself may be dismissive of the revival of the said franchise, the business-minded producers believe it would be a wise decision to revisit something that fans so ardently yearn for. Speaking to Coming Soon, the Expend4bles producers Kevin King-Templeton and Les Weldon stated,

“The same. Rambo. I mean, there’s several different franchises that we’re on, and we’re thinking about for the future. And as well as new projects. You know, it’s, again, it becomes a matter of if, if there is a demand from the fan base, we’ll be the first ones to jump on there, which is why Expendables is happening again.”

They further stated,

“Sometimes Kevin and I will say, “well, I don’t know if there’s gonna be another.” And then the demand comes up, and people are asking, and asking and asking. Buyers are asking, and that was the case with this. And so we took this very seriously to develop this, you know, so that we would do it right. And yeah. And give them something they wanted.”

Although people are not sure whether the franchise will have strong legs to stand on its own even if the main elements that enthralled its fans over the years, the actor himself, Sylvester Stallone, isn’t present in the movie, the producers will seriously take the possibility into account if the fans’ demands persisted.

Why Sylvester Stallone Thinks Rambo 6 Is a Bad Idea?

Over the years, Rambo has cemented its status as one of pop culture’s beloved characters, tracing back to the debut of the original film, First Blood, in 1982. Sylvester Stallone since then never failed to surprise the audiences with this franchise in particular. Surprisingly, the character made two unexpected comebacks, first in the 2008 release simply titled Rambo and then in Rambo: Last Blood in 2019. Having been part of five films in total till now, with the last one being as recent as 2019, fans wonder whether Stallone would consider returning as Rambo again to the big screens.

As the title of the last installment suggests, Last Blood, seemingly marks a full-circle moment for the character, and a possible full stop, the actor also believes that Rambo should now take some well-deserved rest along with him, primarily due to their old age. Recently speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival, the actor stated,

“Rambo, I could leave him,–He’s done pretty much, even though they want to do another one, but what am I fighting? Arthritis?”

Although a hilarious take on the situation, it seemed pretty clear that the actor is now done with the character and wishes to move forward, allowing Rambo to reside in the hearts of the audience.
