Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been headlining news with his different projects for the last few years. From Marvel-Sony’s Kraven The Hunter to rumors of him being the next Bond, Taylor-Johnson has a lot on his plate. And now the versatile actor has added one more thing to his almost-filled plate.
The Age of Ultron actor recently joined David Mackenzie’s heist thriller Fuze. The actor-director duo has already worked in the 2018 historical action drama Outlaw King. Starring Chris Pine in the lead role, the Netflix movie received mixed reviews from critics because of historical inaccuracies, but was praised for the actor’s performances. Now the duo is back, and this time with a heist movie.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson Joins Hands With David MacKenzie
The upcoming movie Fuze opens to the backdrop of a World War II bomb being found at a construction site in London. It is chaos with mass evacuation happening, and that is where the heist begins. The movie is written by Ben Hopkins, who has also written and directed movies like Lost in Karastan and Simon Magus. Fuze will be thriller filled with tension and action, which seems like the perfect combination for a heist movie.
“Tension is one of the purest emotions that cinema can create. I had the idea of combining all the high stakes of an unexploded bomb with that of a bank robbery — clashing these two genres to create as much pressure as possible — in a context that feels as real as possible,” Mackenzie said. “Ben Hopkins took those ingredients and cooked up the compelling script that we are now taking into production.” (via Variety)
After working together in Outlaw King, Mackenzie already knows how good Aaron Taylor-Johnson will fit into this story and is excited to work with him again.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson Is Quite Busy These Days
Aaron Taylor-Johnson was one of the front-runners to star as Agent 007 in the upcoming Bond reboot along with Henry Cavill. But that is not all! He will also star as the Marvel anti-hero Kraven in Sony’s upcoming Spiderverse movie, Kraven The Hunter. Along with that, he has The Fall Guy alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, and Robert Eggers’ next gothic-horror, Nosferatu.
The announcement for Fuze has also been met with positive responses from audiences, who like Taylor-Johnson leading the heist movie.
