Paul Rudd starrer Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was one of the most anticipated films of the MCU before its release. The film was slated to begin Phase 5 of the MCU and featured the big-screen debut of Jonathan Majors as Kang after he was teased in Loki season 1. Despite fans feeling that the pairing of Ant-man and Kang was weird, Marvel promised a thrilling showdown between the two.

However, the film opened with mediocre reviews and these fans’ fears came true. The film’s underwhelming narrative, the characterization of Kang, and the shoddy visual effects were criticized by fans. Now, an actor from the film has revealed new information that explains the dismal nature of the film.

Katy O’Brian who played Jentorra in the film revealed that the film’s script kept on changing till the last day of production. She described the film’s production as a chaotic one and further opened up about how she kept on getting new fight descriptions on the last day. She told Entertainment Weekly,

“That was absolutely chaotic. I think we were getting new pages until the last day, and I think I was getting new fights the last day. I just show up, and they’re like, ‘Here’s a new fight.'”

The MCU has been getting flak in recent years for the very reason that O’Brian has described in the interview. The absence of a bound script and the tendency to add new scenes during production cause problems for the film and will most likely affect its quality. It surely did for Ant-Man 3 and Marvel is now taking steps to avoid that in their future projects.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania put a huge dent in the MCU and the commercial failure of the film also cast doubt on the Ant-Man’s involvement in the franchise’s future. Paul Rudd himself has no idea where the character will go after the events of that film. In an interview with Insider, he revealed that he knows as much as the audience regarding the future of his character.

He stated that he does not have a say in where he wants the character to go and one must ask the heads at Marvel Studios about what his character will do next. He said,

“I have no idea what my future in the MCU or in Marvel is at all. None of this is my call, so I try not to think about it too much. So you’d have to ask the Marvel brass that one.”
