A New York-based plastic surgeon claims that Zac Efron underwent multiple facial surgeries in his early twenties and might have even gotten a 3D-printed jaw implant. He further claimed that the total surgeries he underwent could have cost more than 100,000 dollars, which is quite shocking. Though the Baywatch actor has claimed that his altered jaw was because of a chin injury, it remains a matter of speculation.
Zac Efron and Plastic Surgery: A Web of Speculation
Zac Efron had plastic surgery before 2021, said Dr. Gary Linkov, a New York-based surgeon who pointed out differences in the actor’s early twenties facial structures; and he might have undergone more than one procedure. In a YouTube video of Doctor Gary Linkov, he claimed that there is a possibility that the actor had a 3D-printed jaw implant among other surgeries which might have taken more than 100,000 dollars.
“In 2007, at the age of 20, I am seeing the results of a potentially rhinoplasty surgery. Also, I think that Zac’s nasal bridge may have been narrowed and that’s usually done by adjusting the nasal bone through osteotomies. According to Zac, he fell at home, hurt his chin and then during recovery his masseters got enlarged and grew more than they did in the past.
Now is that possible? Maybe. But I’ve dealt with treating a lot of facial trauma in the past and I never saw that type of impact on the masseter muscles, specifically from a chin injury. I think odds are he may have a custom 3D printed jaw implant along with cheek implants. The total cost of these potential facial plastic surgeries is $100,000.”
This caused an uproar on social media because Efron happens to be one of the hottest actors in the industry. Many have supported the claim of plastic surgery while others claimed Efron is simply genetically blessed. However, it is to be noted that the actor always claimed he never used any of the surgical methods, and all the changes are the outcomes of aging, weight fluctuations, and a chin injury.
From Teen Idol to Reframing Talent: Zac Efron’s Evolution
Zac Efron’s performance as Troy Bolton in the High School Musical franchise was his breakthrough in the early 2000s. It had all the elements of a typical teenage heartthrob: an enchanting smile and charm that was impossible to deny. Nevertheless, beneath this image of purity, there existed a hidden ambition for Efron: to break out of being typecast as an actor and show his adaptability. His journey was more than just six packs and songs.
Efron went on a transformative journey through different roles, both physical and emotional. This is how he left behind the clean-cut Troy in Neighbors for Gold where he nearly tore himself apart to be part of a survivalist thriller. He took on dramatic depth in The Paperboy, where he became reflective; The Lucky One allowed him to explore family dynamics; Dirty Grandpa was even dipped slightly into dark comedy.
Efron also crossed genre by doing what others couldn’t fathom. He changed his body in Baywatch by bulking up and then losing weight for the psychological drama Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. In one film he wore prosthetics and make-up which made him appear like a real Ted Bundy who gave people goosebumps whenever they watched him act as he showcased his ability to disappear into a role.
Through it all, Efron has maintained a grounded persona, shying away from the trappings of celebrity and focusing on honing his craft. He’s open about his struggles with fame and personal demons, demonstrating a vulnerability that resonates with audiences. He’s earned critical acclaim and respect for his dedication to his craft, all while retaining the charm that first drew audiences to him.
