At the moment, there isn’t a lot of information going around regarding Assassin’s Creed Red, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything known about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed title that is currently being developed by Ubisoft.

Over the past few months, there have been a few pieces of information that have been released regarding Assassin’s Creed Red, whether that be the game’s location, the era it is set in, or what platforms it will be available on. Sadly, one piece of that information may have a few gamers upset, as many gamers will find that Assassin’s Creed Red will be unplayable for them.

Why Will Assassin’s Creed Red Be Unplayable for a Huge Number of Players?

Whether you are new to the franchise or have been a long-time fan, Assassin’s Creed Red is a brand-new entry in the franchise that will both take players back to the franchise’s roots while also incorporating some of the new features that have been used in recent games.

However, some gamers will sadly have to wait for a while before they experience this new installment in the franchise. When this new title releases sometime in the future, it sadly will only be releasing on new generation consoles and will ignore old generation consoles.

The reasoning behind this is that Assassin’s Creed Red will be so powerful that it will only be playable on systems like the PlayStation 5’s SSD. This is because the game will most likely be a massive step up in terms of graphics, world design, and overall gameplay, which will need a massive source of power to run.

That being said, the original games were never really that bad to look at in terms of graphics, gameplay, or design. However, there is always room for improvement, as the future of the franchise and its development process could reduce the amount of glitches players will experience once the game releases, and if players are using an old-generation console, it will most likely melt down rather than handle such a huge undertaking.

How Will This Affect the Future of the Assassin’s Creed Franchise, and Will This Cause a Drop in Players?

At the moment, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is in a rather difficult position, as players all around the world are struggling to enjoy the recent games that have been released. This is down to the Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla games, which attempted to alter the game format into a more RPG-based gameplay method rather than just focusing on basic stealth and kill mechanics.

Even though Origins wasn’t too bad in regards to the gameplay loop and RPG mechanics, it eventually began to escalate as Ubisoft continued to push forward on this mechanic and ignore the stealth root all-together.

This caused many players to get frustrated with the franchise, leading to the community practically begging Ubisoft to go back to the original days of Assassin’s Creed, which just relied on sneaking around locations and stabbing any enemy you wanted without risk of damage numbers flying up and you being unable to kill that enemy, leading to a full frontal war in an enemy’s base.

If Ubisoft begins to pull this franchise back and start going back to the good ol’ days, then there is potential for the community to come back and actually enjoy the franchise once again. However, with the next game only coming out on next-generation consoles, it is very limited to how many players will be able to play the game, cutting out half of the player base entirely.

So far, there are valid points on either side of the argument, but if Ubisoft is really looking to bring this franchise back into the community and bring excitement back into the franchise, then it will really need to utilise the next generation specs to create a fantastic game, as there would be no point bringing out a next generation game but using old generation specs.

What do you think about Assassin’s Creed Red only coming out for next-generation consoles? Are you looking forward to the next chapter of the AC franchise? Let us know in the comments what you think!
