Palworld’s overnight success can be credited to multiple factors, such as a creative open world and the faithful inspiration from Pokémon. However, it seems that the honeymoon period is starting to fade away and players are beginning to uncover flaws within the game. Some of these have the potential to seriously hinder the gameplay loop, and we’ll have to wait and observe how devs address them.

In the meantime, a player has voiced their opinion on what seems to be a quality-of-life feature that needs a drastic change. This improvement would not only make things easier for the players but also reduce the time it takes to manage a key aspect of Palworld.

Looks Like the Studio’s UI/UX Team Needs to Brainstorm Ideas

A post on Reddit by user SmokingSnowDay has garnered quite a bit of attention. With almost 5,000 upvotes and close to 700 comments at the time of writing, the community has equally voiced out their common struggle with one of the game’s massive problems. Apparently, assigning your Pals in Palworld becomes an entire process because there’s a lack of interface (UI) options.

Essentially, Pals can be assigned to tasks in the game, and in the process of doing so, you may have to go through a variety of menu options, boxes, checks, and so on.

The game may have great visuals and smooth gameplay, but a poor interface eventually affects the player’s experience with the game. This is also the reason why so many triple-A studios invest a lot of money in User Experience and User Interface designers.

Instead of simply ranting, some users took a healthy approach by providing solutions. One such comment by MrHazard1 focuses on how the problem can be fixed:

Let us manage assignments from the podium thing (where you can set how hard your base works)

That’s actually a neat idea, considering how this makes use of a single ‘hub‘ for players to make use of, shortening the process of getting Pals to work.

On the bright side, fixing a game’s menu/UI options is something that doesn’t take months or years to do. Once the devs notice this, it’s likely that they’ll quickly think of solutions and start working on a fix.

As Players Uncover More Such Hindrances, Palworld Will Require Constant Updates to Maintain the Shine

This post may have pointed out a simpler issue with the game that’s part of its quality of life. However, there’s a chance that players will eventually find more game-breaking bugs that might cause deeper issues. After all, humans have been involved in the creation of this experience and it only makes sense to spot an error here and there.

Despite the controversies that surround Palworld, the game stays fun at its core. That’s quite the reason why Steam stats have been showing off the game’s massive player base and downloads, even though it’s not a free-to-play title. However, the game does exist on Xbox Game Pass, but those stats are a bit tough to find. 

At the time of writing, there’s hope in the community that devs see the post and start working towards a solution right away.
