PlayStation Plus subscribers have three exciting games to look forward to this November – Mafia II: Definitive Edition, Aliens Fireteam Elite and Dragon Ball: The Breakers. These games will be available for members on Tuesday, November 7, all the way till Monday, December 4.
While these games are quite different from one another, each has a lot of content for fans and newcomers alike. Furthermore, PlayStation has recently made Sony Pictures Core available for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
Let’s take a look at these games and what you can expect from each title.
PlayStation Plus Game #1 – Mafia II: Definitive Edition (PlayStation 4)
Stylist outfits, stories of crime and an open world to explore are all part of the Mafia II experience. This entry entails the journey of a gangster as he makes his way through the ‘golden era’ of organized crime. The story is set within the fictional landscape of Empire Bay, set between 1945 to 1951. You play as Vito Scaletta, a young Sicilian-American war veteran (and mobster) stuck between powerful forces of crime that play on the power struggle of characters in the Mafia crime families.
Mafia II: Definitive Edition is a visual remaster of the original game that first came out in 2010. The game includes all three add-ons from the original story, along with four packs of bonus content.
PlayStation Plus Game #2 – Aliens Fireteam Elite (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5)
Next in the PlayStation Plus Lineup is Aliens Fireteam Elite, a third-person survival shooter that explores the Aliens universe. Players are paired up with up to two other players (or AI) as they uncover the mystery hidden within ruins and caves in this dark, terrifying world. In order to do so, they must fight through four campaigns and brave LV-895, a new planet that needs to be explored.
Players are given a wide array of firearms; deadly weapons like rocket launchers, magnums, SMGs and everything in between. What makes it unique in its playstyle are the 130 distinct perks that modify how battles are fought. Furthermore, a fireteam needs to be carefully curated in order to take down intimidating Xenomorphs, who have their own types and the way they manoeuvre through players’ attacks.
PlayStation Plus Game #3 – Dragon Ball: The Breakers (PlayStation 4)
Dragon Ball games have been a long-time favourite of many fans and newcomers to the franchise. Dragon Ball: The Breakers takes things up a notch and brings an online asymmetrical game that puts players in teams of seven who try to survive the Raider. For newcomers; Raider is a rival from the classic Dragon Ball era (heard of Frieza and Cell?). If not stopped, Raider will hunt everyone and evolve into something much larger and dangerous.
The gameplay is based on Survivors making it through in one piece, while those making the most of Raider’s powers can wipe out Survivors through different strategies. Regardless of who you play as, the game offers you multiple progression paths along with items, cosmetics and skills. This is Dragon Ball presented in an innovative way that puts players against each other in creative gameplay styles.
These are three distinct games you can play this November as part of the PlayStation Plus subscription. However, there’s an added benefit: Sony Pictures Core. This collaboration gives access to up to 2000 movies they can buy or rent, right out of the console. Being a member has its own benefits, like a sweet 15% off on all content that’s available for purchase/rental.
Moreover, interactive series like Silent Hill: Ascension have made their way to the service, along with a weekly compilation of viewer-influenced media that makes its way to the collection, aired 24 hours earlier before they show up on other platforms. If you’re a PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe subscriber, you can watch the first episode on November 8 at 12 p.m. (PST).
