With several titles scheduled for release later this year, the leak mentions a lot of them lined up to be showcased during this week’s stream. So much so that the Xbox Developer Direct that was streamed earlier this month could easily be eclipsed already. Leaks being what they are, the titles mentioned should still be taken with a grain of salt.

The leak was initially shared on X by XboxEra Podcast Host Nick with a cryptic post that ran through seven PS titles expected during the State of Play stream, rumored to happen the day after tomorrow. The post was later decrypted, and the games were listed by another user as a reply to the original post.

Rise of the Rōnin was announced in late 2022 during a live stream of State of Play, with a trailer launching last year at The Game Awards. Gamers expected to get more details about Death Stranding 2 at The Game Awards last year, but Hideo Kojima shared news of another title under development, OD. Fans will now hope there’s a proper trailer unveiled during the livestream.

The other titles expected to be showcased include Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Sonic Generations Remaster, the long-awaited Silent Hill 2, Judas, and a new Metro game that has been under development for a long time and is expected to be released this year. The livestream looks stacked already, adding to The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, which was released earlier this month.

The Xbox Developer Direct that was live-streamed earlier this month revealed the release date for two exclusives, Hellblade 2 and Avowed, while Square Enix updated fans on the latest developments of its upcoming game, Visions of Mana. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was also finally revealed in the live stream, which is also coming later this year as an Xbox exclusive.

PlayStation looks a lot like it would continue winning yet another year in terms of exclusives.

Both Xbox and PlayStation Are Expected to Have an Equally Successful Year

It will be interesting to see the games coming to PS Plus library to win over Game Pass in 2024.

While PlayStation has a better roster of exclusives and third-party titles lined up for 2024 compared to Xbox, the debate as to which console will rule the year could very well take all year to be decided.

Xbox has always gained the upper hand over PS, not from new releases but mostly through its massive subscription service, Xbox Game Pass. According to a recent report, Xbox Game Pass added games worth close to $8,800 in 2023. Contrastingly, PS Plus Essential was reported to have added a total value of close to $2,600 last year, a massive difference in comparison.

It’s a trend that’s expected to continue this year as well, as both giants will look to add more new releases to their subscription plans to gain more subscribers and provide more value to them. After Xbox Developer Direct, the focus will shift to the State of Play this Wednesday, if it does happen as leaked.

The number of titles could also change heavily, as it’s still a leak and should be treated as one. While it may not be clear as to which console giant would win this year come the end of December, it’s quite clear that neither console is a clear winner yet.

Which of the two console giants do you think will rule 2024? Let us know in the comments below!
