PlayStation knows how to engage with the online community and its fanbase by stirring up hype with upcoming triple-A projects through showcases while Xbox is still running in circles. Showcases highlight upcoming titles and are perfect for generating some chatter online.
Fans have compiled a list of rumored titles expected to be featured in the showcase, and the lineup appears quite formidable for the competition. Should even half of these rumors prove true, Xbox could face a significant challenge.
Future PlayStation Showcase Lineup Could Be the Xbox Killer
Users on X shared a list of rumored games that may be getting some new information during the next showcase and the lineup is the ultimate dream for a PS5 user and a nightmare for Microsoft’s flagship home console.
The rumored 2024 PlayStation Showcase is shaping up to be way better than the 2023 Showcase

Heavy hitters like the highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima 2 which has yet to be confirmed but is already on the wishlist of fans and would prefer to play it over something like Assassin’s Creed Red. While there are some outliers, Xbox’s concern may be the potential for Sony to launch a series of sequels and expansions in quick succession.
It wasn’t long ago when Sony also announced that Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut will be receiving a PC port and will implement new systems and mechanics that could rival the competition. Sony is no longer standing by idly and is making some aggressive moves that could cause a power struggle.
PlayStation Officially Won the Console Wars Against Xbox
Video games have been through plenty in recent years and each major company has its creative approach. Sony is certainly more than capable of releasing high-quality exclusives only to be shared with PC years later and the recent success of Helldivers 2 is proof that the company is also willing to adapt to the times and entered the arena for live-service multiplayer games.
The gaming community already has eyes set for the future and it is up to these two large gaming companies to pave the way for the future generation of video games. Sony has the advantage of having a strong lineup of developers and a modest budget at its disposal while it is all Microsoft has at the moment. Perhaps Phil Spencer should have carefully selected which studio to acquire rather than going on a shopping spree.
The lineup is also rumored to feature Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and fans are eagerly waiting to see what comes next with Kojima and Sony’s partnership. It is one of the strengths of the company that can be seen in previous years and deals with other publishers like Square Enix for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy that can only be played on PlayStation.
Microsoft is already dead in the water in terms of games and quality, and the business heads are focused on something that may not go as planned. Xbox is waving the white flag the moment players are asking for more developer support from rival companies and a huge embarrassment for Spencer.
