A Court of Thorns and Roses is a beloved series among fans of the fantasy-book genre. Though its plot revolves around themes of romance, fans love it all the same, with it being one of the most well-known books in the world. Thanks to Sarah J. Maas, the books have provided its readers with a deeply immersive world full of characters that they not only grow attached to but also fall in love with. From all the Hello Feyre Darlings to the Azriel constantly becoming irritated at the chaos around him, this series has become a home for many.
It is because of this, that it is no surprise that these books are being turned into a live-action adaptation on Hulu. The news of this was announced quite some time ago, and despite this, there haven’t been any updates on who will be cast in what role. This has prompted fans to begin casting their own. On that note, here are some actors fans think would be perfect in the roles of these beloved characters.
Feyre Archeron
The casting of Ferye for the A Court of Thorns and Roses series would be no easy feat. Being such a complex character with distinctive personality traits and a lot of range required, the decision of who will play this character will dictate the entire future of this franchise. When this news was announced, there were rumors that Danielle Rose Russell, best known for her role as Hope Mikealson in The Originals, would be playing this character.
While the actress seems to have taken a break from acting, this would be the perfect opportunity to come back and play this character. If not Rose Russell, a fresh face would be best suited, as when beloved books are being adapted onto the screen, it has always proven to be better for its performance to have a new actor step into these shoes.
Rhysand
Rhysand would be a very difficult character to cast, not only because of his unique personality and unrealistic physical description but also because fans are extremely protective of him. The entire ACOTAR fandom has collectively formed an image of him in their heads, and if the series does not replicate it, they will learn that success would be extremely difficult to find. Thomas Doherty, who recently starred in Gossip Girl, would perfectly embody Rhys’ character as a whole.

Tamlin
Tamlin is a deeply complex character. In the first book, A Court of Thorns and Roses, Sarah J. Maas fooled her readers into thinking that he would be to Feyre, what Rowan was to Aelin in Throne of Glass. However, we would soon learn the truth of his nature in A Court of Mist and Fury, making us turn from spring to night. The actor who would be cast as the High Lord of the Spring Court would have to be able to capture both sides of his personality. An actor like Joe Alwyn or Alex Pettyfer would be perfect for this.
Amarantha
Amarantha only features in the first book of A Court of Thorns and Roses, however, the impact she leaves on the protagonists sticks for the rest of the series. She is menacing, and scheming, and looks at the entire world as a game to be played for her entertainment. On top of this, she takes any opportunity she gets to belittle those she wishes to. She does all of this while looking deadly beautiful. The one actress who could perfectly embody all of these traits would be none other than Anya Taylor-Joy.
Nesta Archeron
While Nesta’s role in the first three books is to simply add to her sister’s story, A Court of Silver Flames offers her a level of depth that has made her one of the favorites among fans. She has a distinctive look, personality, and story that has made her one of the strongest characters in the series, both emotionally and through her powers. The one actress who could showcase all the sides of Nesta, good and bad, would be Samara Weaving.
Best known for her work in Ready or Not, she is no stranger to characters like these and would do an excellent job as her in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
Cassian
Cassian is another character that got a great amount of depth in the fifth A Court of Thorns and Roses book, being able to tell his story and fall in love at the same time. His personality and characteristics are extremely unique and unseen in the film industry. A new actor would be perfectly suited for this role; some who looks similar to Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes.
Azriel
Azriel is an extremely beloved character from the series and fans are also very protective of him. Az is very quiet and introverted at the same time being one of the most dangerous people in any room. There are very few actors who would be able to embody the vision that fans have of this character. The two people who would be perfect, however, are Sean Teale, best known for Rosaline, and one the fans agree on the most, Matthew Daddario, best known for Shadowhunters.
Elain Archeron
Elain has a personality similar to Azriel, however, where Az is confident, she is shy. Her story is similar to her sisters; full of tragedy and unwanted sacrifices. Going from a perfectly happy life in the mortal world to having the weight of the fae world on her shoulders. Phoebe Dynevor, best known for her work in Bridgerton, would perfectly capture the essence of her through the A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
Lucien Vanserra
Lucien’s is one of the most unique in the entire series, being somewhat similar to a fox. He is clever, sarcastic, and witty, yet loyal and kind. He has seen some of the most horrible sides of fae culture and made it through with a smile on his face. Lucien Laviscount, best known for Emily in Paris, would be a perfect fit for his character.
Morrigan
Mor is one of the first friends that Feyre made at the Night Court. Being a welcoming and kind face in a place that she was told was made for nightmares, and having just come from one herself, Mor helped Feyre understand the beautiful sides of the night and its High Lord. She is also strong, brave, and one of the most lively people in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. The person who would be perfect to play her would be Sophie Turner.
Amren
Amren is one of the most terrifying and strong characters in the entire A Court of Thorns and Roses series. Despite being extremely small and short, she is more powerful than anyone in the Night Court. When it comes to the physical description of this character, there would be no one better suited than HoYeon Jung, best known for her work in Squid Game.
