Modus Games just dropped a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming release, Projekt Z: Beyond Order, at the Guerrilla Collective 2024 showcase. If the World War 2-era game fulfills all the action-packed fun the trailer shows us, Activision might need to go back to the drawing board for Black Ops 6‘s Zombies.

Experience the intense action of battling the undead in this thrilling first-person zombie shooter with robust character progression and extensive weapon customization. Set around World War II, take on fast-paced missions or explore the terrifying island in Free Roam mode as one of four survivors, each with their own unique abilities and role in 4-player co-op. Shoot, loot, craft, survive.

Beyond Order‘s Free Roam mode only unlocks after completing a level, so keep that in mind. The co-op game will let you bring three friends with you on your journey to survival against these monstrous experiments. Each character has different abilities, and you can upgrade them via individual skill trees to make the zombie population-culling a little easier.

You’ll also be able to build and customize different weapons depending on what you’d like to use. There are supplies and blueprints for guns and melee weapons at the workbench of the main base, and weapon modifiers will take your artillery up a notch.

The blueprint system is one of the most unique things about the game; a lot of its aspects revolve around blueprints, so you’ll want to be on the lookout for them while you explore the island. If you do manage to find some, bring them back to the base as soon as possible; dying means you lose your items!

Call of Duty’s Zombies Won’t Be an Easy Foe to Overcome

Call of Duty has many problems, but Zombies isn't one of them.
Call of Duty has many problems, but Zombies isn’t one of them.

While the games are almost always at the center of discourse stemming from unrest, criticism, and problems, there’s a reason many people continue to play the games. The franchise is a staple in the gaming industry as a whole, never mind the first-person shooter genre. Not to mention, its single-player campaigns are genuinely praised for their gameplay and immersion.

Zombies is one of the most loved parts of each entry in the franchise, and toppling that kingdom is no easy feat. However, after leaks suggesting that Black Ops 6‘s Zombies mode may have unfavorable changes, the hype isn’t as strong.

For Beyond Order, this could be the perfect chance to snatch up some of the player base from the major franchise.
