Olivia Wilde may play the lead in Quentin Tarantino’s last movie

Quentin Tarantino will certainly go down as one of the most established directors in the history of Hollywood and the director is pretty firm about how he wants to leave his career. The legendary director has previously revealed that his 10th movie, The Movie Critic will be his one last work before he bids goodbye to the life of cinema forever.

A lot of A-listers have been wanting to associate with the project for years as it might be the last stand of Tarantino, but a final cast for the movie has not been decided as of yet. It has been revealed earlier that Quentin Tarantino’s The Movie Critic will allegedly be set in late 1970s Los Angeles with a female lead at the center of the movie. Hence, Olivia Wilde could’ve been considered for the role.

John Rocha further added that Olivia Wilde does have the features to perfectly portray the role of a 70s character and Jeff Sneider also chimed in on the topic and said,

“She could’ve played Sharon Tate if Margot [Robbie] had passed.[in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood]. It’s a tantalizing possibly and I couldn’t just let it slide.”

A release date of May 2025 has been set for The Movie Critic.

The release date of The Movie Critic might also be shifted from 2025 to 2026

Earlier it was revealed that Quentin Tarantino’s final film, The Movie Critic will allegedly be released in May 2025. However, considering that more than a month of 2024 has passed already and a cast and production house have not been announced for the movie, John Rocha opened up about how he felt that if the movie is supposed to come out next year, it might feel a bit rushed.

Jeff Sneider also added to the conversation and revealed that he thinks that if it is Quentin Tarantino’s last project, the release of the movie might be shifted to 2026. He said,

“I don’t think it is a 2025 release. I don’t think it is. I think that we were all thinking that ‘Oh this is something that could be ready in time for Oscar season 2025’ but I do believe the rumor that Tarantino wants to take this movie to Can if it is indeed his final film. And, obviously, it’s not gonna be ready by next May.”
