While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Brosnahan revealed how the preparations for Superman: Legacy have been going, especially for the character of Lois Lane and for Conreswet’s Superman. The actress said:

“They have been out in Atalanta, doing some fight training. I am begging James to let me get in there, and show off these guns, but to no avail. “

Brosnahan said the last part pointing at her arms, which she has been training no doubt. In the comics, Lois Lane is an accomplished martial artist, which also works in the character’s favor as she more often than not finds herself in dangerous situations. One of the perks of being an investigative journalist, you could say. Brosnahan has also played independent female characters, which is an experience that will be immensely valuable while playing Lois Lane. The actress was in the running for the character among others, such as Emma Mackey and Phoebe Dynevor.

Rachel Brosnahan has been stalking her journalist friends

Lois Lane is perhaps one of the most famous comic book journalists in the history of the medium (only eclipsed by a certain Spider-Man-obsessed editor). It is often shown in stories that Clark Kent learns the ropes at Daily Planet under the mentorship of Lois Lane, who is already a seasoned pro by the time Clark joins the newspaper. Needless to say, the character would know an investigative journalist’s war room inside and out, which is something that Brosnahan has been trying to do. The actress revealed:

“Well, I am stalking some journalist friends of mine. Just asking some questions about what its like to be inside a newsroom and working in investigative journalism, having some great conversations with James and David.”

The actress also went on to reveal the production for the film will be starting in March of 2024. The film is currently scheduled to be released on 11th July 2025, which remains unchanged even after the SAGAFTRA and Writer’s Strikes of 2023.
