With Barbie actor Simu Liu hosting this year’s ceremony, the star has been nominated for the Movie Performance of The Year category.
As per reports, this year there has been a minute change, as the number of categories has expanded to 45 for the People’s Choice Awards. Meanwhile, the outlet reported the top nominees for this year’s ceremony are the industry’s notable icons including Beyoncé, Leonardo DiCaprio, Taylor Swift, Ryan Gosling, Pedro Pascal, and more.
This year reality TV favorites include Kim Kardashian on the list of nominees. But among all the renowned faces who popped up on the list, there are a few rising stars who made their way as nominees. One among them is The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes actress Rachel Zegler. But to her surprise, Zegler is competing against Hollywood’s finest – Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves.

According to reports shared by ENews, Rachel Zegler has been nominated for two categories, ‘The Female Movie Star Of 2023’ and ‘The Action Movie Star Of The Year’. While in the first category, Zegler is competing against rather new actresses with only a few veteran stars like Julia Roberts; in the second category, the actress is facing major competition.

Stunned to see herself on the list of nominees for The Action Movie Star Of The Year category, following her appearance in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, Rachel Zegler expressed her eye-popping shock on social media. Taking to her X account, the actress noted how she’s perplexed and amazed at the same time to see herself on the list of nominees.

But what shocked her the most is that she’s competing against Hollywood’s finest action stars like Tom Cruise and Keanu Reeves. While Cruise is known for his unbeatable stamina and strength to perform his stunts all by himself, Reeves is known for his cutthroat invincible John Wick-like energy. Thus, finding herself among such great actors, even Rachel Zegler seemed star-struck.
