Thanks to the success of Reacher‘s seasons 1 and 2, the show was renewed for a third season in late 2023. The series is based on the Jack Reacher book series by Lee Child, starring Alan Ritchson as the titular character. The first season was based on the book Killing Floor, while the second season was based on Bad Luck and Trouble.

The book for the third season has reportedly been selected and this time, Jack Reacher will go on a solo adventure, much like DC Comics’ Batman. In the second season, fans got to see Reacher teaming up with Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan), and David O’Donnell (Shaun Sipos).

In a recent interview with The Messenger, author and executive producer of Reacher, Lee Child, revealed that the book for Reacher‘s third season has been selected. The first season was based on Killing Floor and the second season was based on Bad Luck and Trouble. As per Child, Jack Reacher will go on a solo adventure this time,

“We’ve picked it up, it’s chosen. It’s a good choice, I gotta say. I think we’ve been very creative about how we’ve sequenced the type of story – We felt we needed a book that was more Reacher alone for the third season. And so it was a question of which story would work best for that, and which one would have a great opening scene and all of that, and we found one that we loved.”

There are 28 entries in the main Reacher novels, and since Lee Child didn’t reveal which book is being adapted, fans can only guess. Some believe that the book Worth Dying For is being adapted this time, but nothing is confirmed as of now.

With Reacher gaining popularity, actor Alan Ritchson has also become the talk of the town. Over the past few weeks, people on social media have been suggesting that Ritchson is perfect for the role of Batman. It is possible since James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, is currently setting a soft reboot of the DCEU, so maybe Ritchson can play the new Batman.

Unfortunately, this is just a fan casting but viewers will get to see Ritchson going on a solo adventure like Batman in the third season of Reacher. In the past, the actor has played Hank Hall / Hawk in the series Titans. Given his physique and acting abilities, he wouldn’t have a hard time playing the Caped Crusader in Gunn’s new DC Universe.
