“Look I really enjoy those films a lot. I enjoy them. But I make the ‘Missions’ and ‘Reacher’. Just different kinds of films. I grew up watching ‘Shane’, Steve McQueen, Clint Eastwood, and this kind of character that just goes for guys that really deserve it. The guy who really deserves it. Not everyone deserves it. But when they really deserve it they just get it”

During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the actor was asked if he even wanted to be in a superhero movie, or has he ever collaborated with MCU or DCU, to which he replied with a “No“. Cruise added that although he enjoys these types of movies, he is particularly not interested to film one. There are always those who are meant to play a certain role, he just does not see himself as one.
