A new screenshot from the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game has leaked and fans of the franchise, who were already hyped for it are even more excited now. The screenshot shows the main menu screen in all its glory, drenched in red, giving away a lot of information about the upcoming game.
A reveal trailer for Assassin’s Creed Codename Red was released back in 2022, during a Ubisoft Forward stream that revealed a samurai in black set in feudal Japan, set in a historical period. Since then, several tidbits about the game have been leaking but this is the first time a detailed screenshot has leaked.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Red’s Main Menu Screen Leaked
There’s a lot to uncover from the leaked main menu screen of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed title, which still only has a codename to it. The title also has no release date yet, but fans who have been waiting impatiently just got a first glimpse at the game’s main menu screen, which reveals two faces. The game was known to have multiple protagonists, one being a samurai.
The leaked screenshot was shared on X by the GPT: Game Pass Tracker account in a now-deleted tweet, with a lot of obvious details that were noticed on the main menu options.
As revealed by Ubisoft back in 2022, the upcoming game is set in feudal Japan and features two playable protagonists, one of whose name was Naoe, revealed under the character selection option. The second protagonist is highly rumored to be an African samurai warrior named Yasuki.
The details at the bottom of the screen showing developer details reveal the screenshot was taken on the 3rd of this month. The screenshot also revealed that the game was running on an Xbox Series X console, running at 30 fps at 1800p resolution with the Quality mode selected and running with RayTracing set to OFF.
With several titles still sticking to locked 30fps on Xbox Series X|S consoles, fans are already hoping for a performance option to play the game at 60fps. The menu also has an option to “Select Season” confirming one of the rumors about the game being a live-service title.
Fans have already started voicing concerns about some of those details revealed through the leaked screenshot.
Fans Hyped and Puzzled at the Same Time About a Lot That Was Revealed
The screenshot also has a “PLAY DEMO” option at the end, which is expected to be a gameplay demo that could be showcased during the Ubisoft Forward stream that’s scheduled for the 10th of June this year.
Most of the replies to the post on X were by fans who were hyped for the game already, while some were still skeptical.

On the other hand, there were mixed replies in terms of the African protagonist being included in a game that’s set in feudal Japan, while most others who know the lore of Yasuke welcomed his addition to the game.
I wonder if samurai is going to be Yasuke since that is a well-known story in Japan.

A lot of fans are hyped and are waiting for Ubisoft’s live stream later this year but for now, fans remain quite positive about what to expect from the next game in the franchise.
