Berry played a doctor who ended up as a patient in her mental hospital, while Downey Jr. portrayed one of her colleagues. Their dedication to their roles led to an intense interrogation scene where the actor’s character had to restrain Berry.
However, things took a wrong turn when Downey Jr. got a bit too into character. In a momentary lapse, he accidentally twisted Berry’s arm the wrong way, resulting in a painful fracture. As per Yahoo, Berry revealed,
“It wasn’t like I was trying to fall 50 feet and just fell wrong or did something crazy. I was shooting a scene with Robert and he grabbed my arm the wrong way and broke it.”
Unfortunately, by the time anyone realized what happened, the damage was done, and Berry had to take a break from filming.
Downey Jr. also acknowledged the accident, expressing regret but also deflecting full responsibility. He said,
“It was an accident, I’m sorry if she’s still upset. I did everything I had to do to keep my side of the street clean. I wish her the best.”

“When you break something, it calcifies and it’s stronger. You don’t usually break the same bones twice.”
Further, she added,
“On [Bruised], because it was an independent movie, we didn’t have a big budget. The director in me said, ‘I didn’t come this far and work this hard to go home.”
