Rockstar Games is trying to make GTA 6 as realistic as possible. Moreover, they are trying hard to keep the game’s development as secret as possible. But some social media sleuths will go to distance to provide whatever information they can find to put it in front of the eager audience sitting on the edge of their seats.
In September 2022, a user going by the name teapotuberhacker posted a barrage of videos from the unfinished game which became one of the greatest leaks in the gaming industry. The was stolen by the hacker who then asked Rockstar to “negotiate a deal” to return the pivotal data. Another leak has surfaced online, although not of a scale as big as this, that provides a glimpse of what should the users expect as the game arrives.
GTA 6 Will Need Some Serious Skills
The new leaks suggests that developers are drawing inspiration from games like Skyrim and Red Dead Redemption 2 to make the game more interesting. According to a thread shared by user named Nima on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), players will require specific tools for every action they take in the game. This include “lockpicks and cutters to open vehicles and more” during the gameplay.
Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim features a similar feature which allow players to open a lock via lockpicks. A user enters a zoom view while performing the action and need to move the pick in order to open the lock. As one pick can be used one time only, players are required a large number of them as they advances in the game.
Futhermore, the new GTA game is likely to bring Eagle Eye feature from Red Dead Redemption 2. It allow players to find certain things and is a non-combatant feature unlike the Dead Eye. Moreover, it can also be used to find trails and paths left behind by animals or enemies. Features from both the games, if implemented, may forge ahead a revolution in GTA games.
Rockstar Games Had a Near-Miss From Meeting Community Backlash
More than anything, cryptocurrencies and its cousins non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are among the biggest disgraces for the gaming community. Firstly they take away the entertainment value from games, and secondly, they are harmful for the environment. It is estimated a crypto-asset like Bitcoin can take up to 127 terawatt-hour a year, more than the consumption of a country like Norway. Plus it also emit up to 50 Million tons of carbon every year.
Rumors were, the game will likely to integrate cryptocurrencies and NFTs, however, the idea has been scrapped. When major video game organizations like Ubisoft and Sega tried the similar stunt, their respective communities clarified with their actions that it is not their cup of tea. A Sonic The Hedgehog fan called company’s plan a “disappointment“ after their pursuit to antithetical practices.
May that is why a better part of blockchain games are a disaster given that nobody’s playing them. Considering this, if Rockstar Games have parted their ways with these assets, it would be among the best decision they had made considering the game.
