What are some other records held by GTA 5?

The records mentioned above aren’t the only records held by the game, far from it. It is recognized by Guinness World Records as the best-selling videogame for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) with over 20 million copies sold. It was also the best-selling action-adventure videogame in 2014.

GTA V was also the highest-rated video game on the eighth generation of consoles, being the highest-rated game on Metacritic for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at 97, as mentioned earlier. It is tied with Rockstar’s own Red Dead Redemption 2.

Other than these records, the game also holds the record for the most viewed trailer for an action-adventure videogame, which was set back in 2012 with 23 million views. Today, the same trailer has been viewed 88 million times. Apart from this, the game also holds the record for the highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours, at $815.7 million.
