Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is Rocksteady’s upcoming title, released on February 2 for all current-gen consoles and PCs. The title has come under fire recently because of it being live service and not appealing to gamers because of the fact.
The title was criticized for many gameplay elements, which did not sit well with gamers. Now, the studio responsible for the game’s development, Rocksteady, has released the official system requirements for the game’s PC release. It is debatable how optimized the game will be for the PC, considering the issues associated with the studio’s last release in 2015. Regardless, there is a critical component that everyone should have in their systems to run the game without hassles.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League system requirements have an SSD mentioned as a strict requirement.
The system requirements were released recently for the title by the studio. The requirements can be debated depending on the technology one is packing in their rigs. One thing is for sure, though: one needs an SSD to play the title.
The requirement for an SSD probably branches out because of the game’s nature. A sprawling world will be seen from a third-person perspective, demanding more draw distance and faster loading to keep things nice and smooth. One should consider upgrading if one doesn’t want to get stuck on loading times and find themselves in a situation similar to GTA V‘s loading time on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.
Also, it is doubtful that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would not even launch on a standard spinning hard drive, but chances are that there will be hiccups and micro stutters in one’s playthrough due to the loading times. That shouldn’t be a concern regarding how cheap storage is compared to when SSDs were the hottest in the PC components market. One can grab a mid-tier SSD for anywhere from 35 to 50 USD. Apart from individuals with a budget PC gaming setup, one requirement that isn’t discussed much is the graphics card requirement for the title.
The 4GB VRAM cards seem to have turned almost obsolete, as one needs the archaic 1070 for Minimum Settings and 30 fps in the title. While the card can be found for cheap because it uses the outdated 2014 Pascal architecture, the old guy still rocks an 8GB VRAM.
Regardless, individuals with a more recent RTX 2050 or GTX 1650 should be concerned, as the minimum VRAM specified is 6GB to run the title at minimum settings at 60 fps. 1070, a 2014 card, which is only two or three years old and still possesses a 4GB VRAM, should ideally not possess problems apart from textures mainly dependent on the one’s VRAM.
Having discussed the requirements that could perhaps be a little tough for budget gamers, these are the complete official system requirements for the title:
Minimum Settings, 30 fps @ 1080p
- CPU: Intel i5 8400K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
- RAM: 16GB dual-channel
- Storage: SSD required
Minimum Settings, 60 fps @ 1080p
- CPU: Intel i7 9700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
- GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
- RAM: 16GB dual-channel
- Storage: SSD required
Recommended Configuration for the title; Medium Settings, 60 fps @ 1080p
- CPU: Intel i7 10700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
- GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
- RAM: 16GB dual-channel
- Storage: SSD required
Ultra Settings 60 fps @ 4K
- CPU: Intel i7 12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: Nvidia RTX 3080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT
- RAM: 16GB dual-channel
- Storage: SSD required
Notice how there isn’t a number specified for the storage required for the title, mainly because it is a live service title and will get chunkier with time due to add-ons and new content. However, if one looks at the current storage requirement on the game’s Steam product page, it takes 65 gigs, which is pretty average for a title in 2024. To be safe, if one hasn’t upgraded to an SSD and can afford to spend a little bit more, they should opt for a 500 GB SSD to future-proof their system.
