While superhero films and TV shows seem to pop up on a daily basis in recent times, there will always be those few offerings from the industry that would have the potential to make a global impact. And one of the finest examples of this phenomenon was the existence of the DCEU, which was envisioned by Zack Snyder that started and was later revered by many through Man Of Steel.

And with subsequent releases adapted from his vision, the DCEU started to grow exponentially. But tragedy struck, and due to personal reasons, the visionary had to take his leave from WB Discovery, which led to the downfall of the franchise as we all know. And although many may view him as a tragic hero, the folks over at Rolling Stone seem to view him in a not-so-friendly light, which is the reason why they have constantly tried to put him on blast, recently by replacing The Snyder Cut for an MCU film as the best superhero movie.

While the MCU may be absolutely dominating the world of superhero films and TV shows in recent years, it did have an emerging competitor in the form of Zack Snyder and the DCEU. Being the mind behind the madness of the DC superhero franchise, the director was a true visionary that had plans to give Marvel Studios a run for their money. But as fate would have it, complications occurred, and the filmmaker had to leave WB Discovery. And when he decided to make a comeback, he was shot down by the popular magazine Rolling Stone through their negative press.

In the past, the publishers have repeatedly tried to dismiss the director by claiming and reporting things about how the ‘Release the Snyder Cut’ campaign was fueled by bots and fake accounts along with his beef with executives at Warner Bros. and how he wanted them removed. And now, in their list of the 50 Greatest Superhero Movies of All Time, they have awarded the number one spot to MCU blockbuster Black Panther led by the Late Chadwick Boseman, which earned a staggering $1.3 Billion at the box office following its release in 2018.

The alarming part about this particular list is the fact that while many films of the DCEU and the MCU have been ranked in a relatively appropriate manner, Zack Snyder’s Justice League has been placed dead last when it was previously placed amongst the top candidates.

Not only was Justice League the culmination of all of the hard work and passion that he put into building the franchise, but it was also one of, if not the best work that Zack Snyder had done in his career. And not just through the words of the director, ever since the fandom got a whiff of the fact that Snyder’s cut of the film existed, they went on a rampage, demanding that it be released to honor the 300: Rise of an Empire filmmaker’s legacy. And as expected, the film surpassed all expectations and became a cult classic after its release.
