Heyman, who has been announced as the first inductee of the 2024 Hall of Fame class, has been a pivotal figure in the realm of wrestling for over two decades, serving in various managerial and broadcast roles.
The executive has recently opened up about the ambitious plan driving his on-screen partnership with Reigns and the overarching storyline, saying that their goal was to beat the legendary villainous arcs of television history.

Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns joined forces in 2020, and since then, the wrestling star has undergone a remarkable transformation, emerging as one of the most revered figures in WWE. His reign as the WWE Universal Champion, which commenced in 2020 after defeating Bray Wyatt, has been marked by dominance and acclaim.
Notably, Reigns unified the WWE Championship with the Universal Championship at WrestleMania in 2022, solidifying his status as a heavyweight in the wrestling arena. Paul Heyman has revealed that from the beginning, they were aiming to compete with some of the highly acclaimed TV series such as Peaky Blinders, Breaking Bad, and The Sopranos with The Tribal Chief storyline.

“When Roman Reigns and I had a chance to work together, starting in August of 2020, our designation was to put together a body of work that would upon reflection compete with Peaky Blinders, The Sopranos, The Wire, Fargo, Breaking Bad, the most compelling dramas with the most riveting villains that anyone has ever seen.”
He also emphasized that they aimed to shake up the established norms within sports entertainment and that they wanted to challenge and innovate within the industry by continually pushing boundaries and creating new standards rather than settling for the existing status quo.

Talking to the New York Post, Paul Heyman also highlighted his pivotal role in shaping the captivating Bloodline storyline. “It’s constantly evolving,” he said, as he defined the whole designation of the Tribal Chief and The Bloodline as the “highest quality product this industry has ever seen.”
Heyman also pointed out that he has a “significant voice” not only in the narrative but in “everything from camera angles to music to storylines.” He further stated, “It’s why Roman Reigns bestowed upon me the blessing name of the Wiseman.”
