Recently, it has been announced that Respawn is currently working on a first-person Mandalorian game, and understandably, the hype is building very quickly. Since gamers might not see this new game for a few years, they are playing whatever they can to pass the time.
One recent release has gamers fantasizing about what a Mandalorian game would look like, and that is Helldivers 2. Understandably, a Mandalorian game will be completely different from Helldivers 2 in terms of story, missions, and even locations, but there are enough similarities to get by.
Gamers Are Eagerly Awaiting the Upcoming Mandalorian Game, so They Are Taking What They Can Get for Now
If you aren’t familiar with Helldivers 2, it is a brand-new game that puts you in control of a soldier fighting in a war against aliens and automatons through the galaxy as you attempt to bring liberty to the universe, but what makes it fun are the explosions, guns, funny quips, and chaos.
Even though there are quite a few differences between Helldivers 2 and the Mandalorian, there are a few aspects of the game that remind us of our favourite Beskar wearing Bounty Hunter/Smuggler, and that is what most gamers are looking towards.
Throughout Helldivers 2, there are dozens of weapons, stratagems, and armor sets that players can use to complete the dozens of missions that plague the universe. Some of these items look incredibly similar to those of the Mandalorian, just like his famous jetpack, which you can use in the game to glide around the map, even for a short time.
If you are really looking to follow in the footsteps of the Mandalorian, you can even run around with just a pistol and a marksman rifle as you defeat the different aliens and automatons. Sadly, there is no darksaber at this time, but maybe one day we will get a glimpse at a weapon similar to it.
If the Mandalorian Follows Suit With Helldivers, We Could Be Looking at a Whole New Video Game Format
Even though there is little to no information regarding the Respawns first-person Mandalorian game, we can only hope that it takes some inspiration from Helldivers 2 in regard to gameplay and mechanics, but hopefully not too much inspiration, as there are some wacky moments in Helldivers 2.
At the moment, we do not know whether or not this new game will be story-focused or will be an open-world adventure in which players will be able to take control of the Mandalorian but explore the universe as a bounty hunter or smuggler.
It is highly unlikely that it will be a tie-in and will follow the story of the show to the letter, but it would be nice to explore a universe as a recognized character in the Star Wars universe and either play a story from later on in the timeline or move back in time and experience his younger years.
What do you think about a first-person Mandalorian game? Would you like to play as the Mandalorian, with similar mechanics to Helldivers 2? Let us know in the comments what you think!
