With last year’sĀ BarbieĀ having phenomenal success at the box office, the actor is showing no signs of stopping as he shows off his acting prowess in his recent releaseĀ The Fall Guy. The film was meant to be one of the best watches of the summer, but it tanked during its theatrical run as it fell short of expectations, and raising doubts. However, upon the digital release of the film is doing wonders and is nearing a towering achievement.

Ryan Gosling’sĀ The Fall GuyĀ is Edging Closer to A Monumental Milestone

David Leitch’sĀ The Fall GuyĀ revolves around the life of a former stuntman portrayed byĀ Ryan GoslingĀ and he is assigned the absurd task of finding the actor in the film after he suddenly disappears. The film had elements of action, comedy, and romance, whilst featuring jaw-dropping stunts.

The film had huge expectations because it was the first film of the summer, and fans of the star wanted the film to perform well. However, the film had an underwhelming run at the box office. Recently, the film made its debut on digital platforms and it is doing wonders because the film has received positive reviews for its action sequences.

Moreover, the performance of the cast has been not only been praised by the fans but also by the critics. To make things better for the film, the film is nearing a major box office milestone, that is the $150 million mark. According to reports from Box Office Mojo, the movie grossed an estimate of $7.6 million domestically this weekend, taking its grand total to $73.8 million.

The film also accumulated $4 million from the worldwide box office, which took its international earnings to $71.6 million. Hence, the film’s cumulative total to $143 million. As a result, it is quite possible that the film will hit the prestigious $150 million mark is a high probability.

Though the film would most likely hit the monumental mark, the film’s total gross is much lower than expected because the film features Gosling and Emily Blunt, the two stars that were part of the two biggest films of 2023, BarbieĀ andĀ Oppenheimer.Ā Both stars had also been promoting the film, creating a buzz that was so high that failed to meet its hype upon its release in the theatres.

The Fall GuyĀ Is A Great Watch Despite Poor Box Office Numbers

Even though a film’s success primarily depends on its performance at the total box office earnings,Ā The Fall GuyĀ is not a box office bomb. As per Box Office Mojo, the film accumulated a total of $35.9 million at the domestic box in its opening week. The number is not disappointing but it is far lower than the buzz it had created prior to its release.

However, the film has managed to please the critics and its viewers because, on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a score of 81% on Tomatometer and 86% approval of the fans on the audience score. Hence, even though the final box office earnings would meet expectations or not, it does not change the fact that the film is a great watch, that merges two genres completely, giving a great time to its viewers.
