Robert Kirkman’s Invincible Live-Action Film Gets A Promising Update

While appearing at the San Diego Comic-Con, creator Robert Kirkman gave a hopeful update about the Invincible movie and shared that Universal is planning to bring the franchise to the big screen (via ScreenRant):

Everything’s been put on pause, but it’s something that I know Universal is very invested in, and it’s something that we’ve been working on behind the scenes up to this point. Hopefully, I’ll be able to answer this question in a more answerable way at some point in the future.”

In his interview with ComicBook, Kirkman reiterated that the project is currently in progress and is hoping to make future announcements soon:

We’re very much still working on that. Sometimes movies take a little bit longer. I think it’s safe to say, if anything, the show has just helped that immensely. People are very excited about that movie potential at Universal. So we’re riding that excitement and trying to push things forward as quickly as possible.”

The Prime Video animated series received critical acclaim with a green-light signal for Season 2. Although fans are enjoying the show, many could not wait until the Invincible movie hit the theaters. The project has been brewing at the headquarters for more than five years now so it is expected that the anticipation has become higher than ever.

As Kirkman noted, Invincible is currently “stalled” due to the ongoing writers’ strike in Hollywood. Hopefully, this will be resolved in the near future so fans can finally get a proper update from the team.
