Deadpool 3 marks the debut of the series within the MCU fold. Under the direction of Shawn Levy, the Deadpool franchise will persist with its R-rating, a departure from the typical MCU content. This installment is poised to evolve into a Wolverine and Deadpool buddy movie. It will see Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in titular roles.

The announcement of Wolverine’s comeback was both unexpected and somewhat anticipated. Hugh Jackman’s portrayal of Wolverine was so iconic that Disney was reluctant to part ways with him. When he first appeared in X-Men in 2000, there was criticism about his casting since Wolverine in the comics is depicted as a shorter individual, whereas Jackman does not fit that physical description. But the film has a bigger battle ahead of it.

Deadpool 3 Will Lock Horns With Joker And Oppenheimer

The presence of R-rated movies has been a consistent feature of the cinematic experience since 1968 when the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) established the contemporary rating system. One of the latest box office successes, Oppenheimer, has already secured its place on this roster.

Additionally, it has outperformed Bad Boys for Life, claiming the title of the highest-grossing R-rated film of the 2020s. Oppenheimer represents Christopher Nolan’s initial venture into R-rated territory for a film in the United States since Insomnia back in 2002.

Joker marks the inaugural R-rated designation for a live-action Batman film in theaters. An upcoming sequel titled Joker: Folie à Deux, featuring Lady Gaga in the cast is scheduled for release on October 4, 2024. Bradley Cooper, who starred alongside Gaga in A Star Is Born, is once again collaborating as a co-producer for Joker: Folie à Deux.
