Ryan Reynolds’ Welcome to Wrexham Renewed For Another Season

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney‘s football club released the first season of its documentary TV series, Welcome to Wrexham, on FX in 2022. Following the journey of the football club from the working-class town in North Wales, Wrexham, the series has continued for two seasons.

It concluded its second season this week. And after two successful seasons, the docuseries is all set for another round at FX as the network has renewed it for another season that would reportedly, as per Deadline, premiere in the Spring of 2024. Nick Grad, the President of FX Entertainment, said,

“The wild global success of Welcome to Wrexham is a testament to the courage and vision of Rob and Ryan, the dogged spirit of the Red Dragons, and the hope and devotion of the people of Wrexham.”

Nick Grad further shared that the story of Wrexham has only begun to be told, and there is so much more to continue in another season. He also thanked the creative team for capturing the thrilling moments that helped share the stories of Wrexham.

Rob McElhenney Finds Working With Ryan Reynolds Truly Inspiring

Rob McElhenney shared earlier this year that working with his fellow actor Ryan Reynolds has been truly inspiring. The duo acquired the football club in 2020 and have since worked together on the team. The Mythic Quest actor shared his experience working with the Red Notice star during a Wrexham FC match in San Diego earlier this year.

Talking to People, McElhenney said, “I consider him one of my closest friends, and I didn’t even know him three years ago.” He shared that he has also learned a lot about his fellow actor as he called him a “kind and generous soul,” saying that he is someone he can rely on. He also referred to him as an inspiration, as he shared that he has received both “professional and personal” advice from the Wrexham co-owner.
