The rumored casting of Snipes for Deadpool 3 became the talk of the town following the brewing feud between him and Reynolds. Fans would remember that the Free Guy star had a not-so-good work experience with Snipes while on the set of Blade: Trinity.

Wesley Snipes Is Rumored To Reunite With Ryan Reynolds In Deadpool 3

The rumor came from scooper Mike Sutton over Geekosity Mag. The report states that Wesley Snipes will finally make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Blade:

Wesley Snipes will return as Blade in Deadpool 3. According to sources, Wesley Snipes will make his MCU debut as the vampire hunter.”

It is still unknown how Snipes’ Blade will fit into the Deadpool narrative, but the fame of the franchise will most likely bring more anticipation. Blade was a huge commercial success, spawning two more sequels: 2002’s Blade II and 2004’s Blade: Trinity. The conclusion to the trilogy received poor reviews, though it paved the way for Reynolds to break into the superhero genre.

Deadpool 3’s plot remains a mystery, although Jeff Sneider shared on The Hot Mic podcast what fans could expect from the third installment:

The rumor on the street is that Deadpool 3 is Deadpool sort of taking on the Time Variance Authority, and so, as a result, I hear Owen Wilson’s Agent Mobius and Tara Strong’s Miss Minutes will be in Deadpool 3.”

With this piece of information, it would be difficult to guess how Blade will enter the picture. The character was rumored to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, though it never happened. There is also a hint of doubt from fans that Blade will be permitted to enter Deadpool’s world because of his feud with Ryan Reynolds.

Regardless, the idea that Blade will return most likely promises a cameo appearance after it has been confirmed that Jennifer Garner will star as Elektra. Several X-Men characters are also expected to make a surprise visit, and it would be difficult to give everyone the spotlight.

Meanwhile, MCU’s upcoming reboot of Blade will see two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali in the lead role.

Why Ryan Reynolds Doesn’t Like Wesley Snipes

In a previous interview with IGN, Ryan Reynolds revealed his true feelings toward Wesley Snipes as his co-star in Blade: Trinity. It is known that the latter practiced method acting on the set, creating tension within the cast and crew. The Red Notice actor’s humor must have clashed with Snipes’ stoic personality:

My personality is the polar opposite of Wesley. I never met Wesley, I only met Blade, and he is a method actor.”

While he respects the guy for his dedication, Reynolds still attempted to break Snipes from his character, and yet all efforts went in vain. This left him with a feeling that The Expendables star might actually despise him:

There’s a moment in the movie where I look up at Jessica, and I swear to God, I didn’t even know the cameras were rolling anymore, and I say, ‘He hates me, doesn’t he?’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah.’

It seems that Ryan Reynolds and Wesley Snipes never buried the hatchet, although the rumor about Blade returning for Deadpool 3 is yet to be confirmed. Nevertheless, the vampire hunter’s presence would definitely bring so much excitement and tension to the movie!

Deadpool 3 will hit theaters on May 3, 2024.
