In her latest Instagram post, Rachel Brosnahan took a dig at David Corenswet and posted a photo of his dog, Ira Corenswet. Captioning it, she wrote-

“Sad to report I’ve been recast today. Ira Corenswet will be taking over the role of Lois Lane. Although I’m disappointed (and he is a nepo baby), I wish him luck.”

Rachel Brosnahan’s post has made the fans and co-stars pass on some witty and hilarious comments. While the Emilia Harcourt fame Jennifer Holland left a laughing emoji, Hawkgirl actress Isabela Merced jokingly responded: “That’s nepotism for ya” with a broken heart emoji. The Shazam 2 star, Rachel Zegler commented that these nepo babies are ruining the industry.

Recently James Gunn also posted on his Threads account that Ira Corenswet took over his director’s chair. He also joked that Ira had some suggestions for new shots. However, there was another unique element in Brosnahan’s post that caught the fans’ attention. It is the bright red cape of the Last Son of Krypton hanging in the background.

James Gunn has earlier stated that he wants to portray David Corenswet‘s Superman as a beacon of hope rather than a brooding superhero in a gritty world. It is further evident by Rachel Brosnahan’s statement to Entertainment Tonight that suggested that Gunn’s Superman will “have a sense of humor”.

Rachel Brosnahan stated that everyone working on the movie are great fan of the Kryptonian superhero. She also added that they are taking their spin on the character to honor the source material.

“I’ve really enjoyed the collaboration with James Gunn so far. Every single person involved in this production is such a perfect nerd for Superman. We all grew up watching the movies. Some of us were reading the comics. So I feel like it’s being made with so much love. And I think this Superman will have a sense of humor.”

Along with a Superman with a sense of humor, the movie will also present a fiercely intelligent Lois Lane. Despite the cult following of Henry Cavill’s Superman, some fans did not like the super-serious tonality given to him by Zack Snyder. James Gunn admitted to Rolling Stone that Superman will not be like Guardians of the Galaxy but will have the right balance of light and serious tones.
