But sometimes, even after being world-famous, you can’t stop yourself from falling prey to being mistaken for some other famous celebrity. And somehow, Jackson faced the same fate as he found himself on the verge of a meltdown after meticulously trying to explain to his German fans that he wasn’t the Oscar-winning star that they took him to be.

Although an amazing and highly well-renowned star himself, even Samuel L. Jackson couldn’t stop himself from falling prey to being mistaken for some other famous celebrity when he was in Germany. And some Oscar-winning personalities at that.

Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, the Marvel star shared what an unusual surprise he was met with when he was in Berlin, Germany. He said,

“The other day I was in Berlin [for] Sunday, Monday, [and] Tuesday. And I went to a restaurant [on] Sunday night and when I walked in, somebody of another table went, [whisper screams] ‘Oh my god, it’s Denzel [Washington]!’ I just kind of looked out of the corner of my eye and said, [shakes his head].”

While getting mistaken for Denzel Washington is still kind of cool even though you’re Samuel L. Jackson, that wasn’t the end of the unusual surprises for the Nick Fury portrayer that day. In fact, for him, the night had only just begun!

Samuel L. Jackson then went on to share how at the very same restaurant he was met with another fan who mistook him for another Oscar winner, but this time, it wasn’t Washington: this time, it was Morgan Freeman. Revealing the embarrassingly funny story, he said at The Graham Norton Show,

“When I moved on [and] we got to our table, the guy behind us turned around and [was like], ‘Morgan Freeman.’ And I said, ‘No, I’m not Morgan Freeman.’ [He was like] ‘Yeah, yeah, come on, you’re Morgan Freeman.’ [I said] ‘Oh, I guarantee you, I’m not Morgan Freeman.’ [Then] I took my phone out, googled ‘Morgan Freeman’, put his picture up [next to my face], I did that, and the guy was like, [nods in approval] ‘Yeah!’ Ah, those wicked Germans.”

For what it’s worth, for those ‘wicked’ Germans, he might be the multiple-time Oscar-winners Denzel Washington or Morgan Freeman, but to us true fans, there will always be only one Samuel L. Jackson aka Nick Fury portrayer.
