Johansson’s art of balancing controversial opinions, and at the same time, shrugging them off when needed, simply makes her a smart, witty, and notoriously gorgeous figure. During an interview, the Tony Award-winning actress mocked her past controversies, boasting how she made a “career out of it”. She said:

“Yea, I’ve made a career out of it. I’m going to have opinions about things because that’s just who I am. I mean, everyone has a hard time admitting when they’re wrong about stuff, and for all of that to come out publicly, it can be embarrassing.

To have the experience of, Wow, I was really off mark there, or I wasn’t looking at the big picture, or I was inconsiderate. I’m also a person.”

Scarlett Johansson’s Art of Patrolling Boundaries Kept Her In The Game

Whatever her political views are, Scarlett Johansson’s films have grossed over $14.3 billion worldwide, making her one of the biggest box office draws. The same is also a reflection of how Johansson managed to stay in the game, despite her “impatient and reactive” attitude. The lady knows when and what to speak, and how to get away with controversies. She explained:

“I can be reactive. I can be impatient. That doesn’t mix that great with self-awareness. I don’t think actors have obligations to have a public role in society. Some people want to, but the idea that you’re obligated to because you’re in the public eye is unfair.

You didn’t choose to be a politician, you’re an actor. Your job is to reflect our experience to ourselves; your job is to be a mirror for an audience, to be able to have an empathetic experience through art. That is what your job is.”

But at the same time, the witty actress, who has often spoken about her pain of being “groomed and highly sexualized” in her early career, offers a “God-level” status to Grammy-winning director Woody Allen, despite Danny Farrow’s allegations of sexual abuse against her adopted father. It’s only fair to suggest that Hollywood didn’t cancel either of the two.
