secret invasion goes from bad to worse after show’s writers forget about one of the greatest nuclear disasters in history

SUMMARY

  • Secret Invasion did not take Chernobyl into consideration when it comes to the radiation present in the place.
  • It could risk human life in ways that can change the stories of both Rhodey and Everett Ross in the most tragic manner possible.
  • Marvel may be getting sloppy with its work apart from shows like Loki that take everything into account.

Samuel L. Jackson’s Secret Invasion was a series that brought to light various different stories that were briefly hinted at from time to time. The concept of the series itself was one fans had been desperately hoping to see but the series, when it came to Disney+, brought about a fair share of mixed reviews. There were many different plot holes introduced in the series, but none stood as concretely as one.

The show was already gaining some negative reviews because of the pacing and all the other factors that made it more of a hot mess than anything else. One such plot hole was introduced with the city of New Skrullos. Made on the remains of Chernobyl, it disregards one of the most harmful factors involved.

Did Marvel Just Forget About Chernobyl

As per the events of the Secret Invasion series, New Skrullos was a civilization made of rebellious Skrulls who settled in the remains of what was once Chernobyl. Perhaps for them, it was a suitable environment to live in, but the same could not be said for humans. The series gives insight into how there were various captured humans in the place. Their memories were extracted and studied before Skrulls would take on their place amongst humanity.

One thing that is to be taken into consideration here is that each human involved in the process would become a gruesome victim of radiation poisoning. The amount of radiation present in the place would easily kill or permanently damage humans without mercy. Were the containment chambers even slightly more protective, then the very act of opening and closing, transporting, and everything else would destroy their bodies and cognition. The sickness that would spread because of it would cause a massacre without effort and that alone would be a tragedy.

Marvel is Getting Too Sloppy

To forget about a tragic factor such as that of Chernobyl in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it can be said that things are looking more than worrisome for the franchise. This also puts characters such as James Rhodey and Everett Ross in jeopardy, not just with their lives but what it would mean to completely disregard their importance in the franchise. To forget the smallest details can put the MCU in danger.

Proof of that, in a positive manner, is with Loki. Being a series about the multiverse, the show manages to take into consideration even the smallest details possible. The writers take into account loopholes, plotholes, and whatever can otherwise mess up the franchise. It is not too difficult to fact-check and at times, it can save some of the most drastic changes in the MCU.
